.....while Bill Clinton remained in the White House after having sex with an intern and lying about it. Contrary to the Hollywood view you see on your screens, most major companies have far higher moral standards than the government.

If you were to believe the movies business executives spend their days plotting how they can break the law. Never in all my years in business did anybody even raise breaking the law as an option.....it would have been a mug's game. Risking your personal incarceration for a few pennies on the stock price.

But the companies I was involved with all had formal codes of ethics which were taken very seriously.....it's when things shift out of the private sector to government that corruption becomes a risk.

Mozart

Many years ago I read a book written about LB Johnston's political career, It started rather strangely about a rigged Senate election in Texas when Johnson became Senator.   However, there was a lot of proof of personal corruption highlighted in the book written as far as I could remember roundabout 1966.   According to the book you could not have  a meeting with Johnston without a attache case or envelope full of money left on his table.

I do not know whether that was the reason why he did not run for election in 1988 - but that was a long time ago and what is more important is the present scenario.   Looking at the evidence slowly coming out it seems to me that the Obama Administration was inherently corrupt to an amazing level.  To prevent any consequences the FBI and CIA as well as the Justice Department was filled with individuals whose role it was to prevent any legal steps be taken against corruption in top political level.

I think the Russian Hoax and present impeachment process is a rearguard battle to protect the corrupt under the Obama administration,   Another 5 years under Trump may lead to some serious action against corruption being taken and I think that could eb fatal for some senior DP leaders,

What do you think is the real situation?

I think it's all political. What people don't figure into the equation is Trump has been accused of being a Russian asset. That's outrageous....who can blame him for trying to find out what really happened in Ukraine. He knew his words were not confidential, if he thought it was a crime he would have found other channels,

The whole Mcdonalds management team should be put in jail for making addictive poison and passing it off as food. Disgusting stuff, I prefer Burger King - although I try to avoid this type of junk food altogether. Kentucky Fried Rats is probably worse than Mcdonalds. ..

We actually get steroid chicken from Worcester at KFC, but I prefer sushi or seafood for fast food....Burger King isn't bad, Steers neither, but over here, there are lekker healthy alternatives too...even Nando's is much healthier than KFC...

My guess is that there is more to the McDonalds CEO being fired for a consensual relationship. Perhaps the women have been paid off, and Mcdonald's board thought it was best to terminate him in case the shit hit the fan.

I doubt that an employment contract could block a relationship regardless of what level an employee is. Perhaps she was married, or he was married- or there is something not yet known.

There are two things that I consider as basic BS when it cones to eating and those are McDonalds and Kentucky fried chicken.   I at one stage "sabotaged"  the opening of McDonalds in Ballito by not dealing with representatives on the issue and referring them to junior officials who I know would not be able to deal with the issue.  LOL

I can still live with Nando's - but for the rest I do not eat junk food.  That is why I have a Jewish lady who can make the most sophisticated and tasty food imaginable doing the household cooking.

Seems like you people can't appreciate a good sodium cake in a bun!  (referring of course to a MacD's burger, not the CEO's shenanigans).

Pakie

I was in Moscow in 1993 and was forced to eat Big Macs with Yak meat inside - there was nothing else available.   Rest assures I hated it and never ate another Mac again.   LOL

Well if YakDonalds is even worse than the local stuff, I actually feel a strange sympathy for you Mike.

Ou Maaik, this must the 4th or 5th time you've mentioned the Jewish lady who cooks for you and every time you've ever mentioned her you've felt the need to include her religion. Do you also talk about your Christian gardener or your Muslim housekeeper? Why do you make a point of mentioning your cook's Jewish religion?
Also, does the fact that she's Jewish mean that you don't get to eat things like bacon, pork ribs, roasted pork belly, eisbein etc? I definitely sympathise with you if that is the case.
Ever considered cooking for yourself . . . just for fun? I cook most meals in my household not because I have to but because I enjoy it . . . and I get to eat all the things I like most.

None of the fast food chains can ever come near a good old Durban Bunny-Chow.

Second is boere on pap smothered in onion and tomato curry gravy.

All served with a  cold CASTLE plus having the Durban sun beating down on you.

Gods country and food.

Man those were the days.

Ou Maaik, while I defer to your vast experience in . . . ummmm . . . coming across elderly Jewish women, you didn't confirm whether she cooks things like bacon, pork ribs, eisbeins, pork bangers and other pork products.
Tell me you're not eating that awful macon stuff!

"Why do you make a point of mentioning your cook's Jewish religion?"

I was under the impression that lots of Jewish people were Atheists...and that being Jewish is more about ethnicity than religion...a bit weird considering that they would still conform with the diet, traditions and religious rituals without actually being religious.???

The best Jews, and the smartest ones are the least religious. Maybe they also cook better if they are not religious. Can at least add pork to the menu. Although personally I am not a big fan of pork. Much prefer beef, chicken and even fish
