I flip between the business/golf and tennis channels. Reflecting the age group that has these interests, pharmaceutical ads are heavily represented. And I’d say 50% of those are shot in CT. Bo Kaap, Camps Bay, Roy Els, Kommetjie appear to be favorites. And every ‘sick’person seems to go up Table Mountain.

It all looks spectacular and the ads are beautifully filmed. The rainbow nation is well represented and clearly South African for those who know the people. Even the gestures look more South African than American to me.

I avoid ads like the plague in general, but I must admit I enjoy seeing the most beautiful place on the planet on my screen.

Cape Tosn is called the Mother City by all population groups in SA as a form of love and pride.

Unfortunately there are areas in the Metopolitan area of Cape Town visitors are advised toa vcoid due to high crime levels. What visitors see is the beautiful environment of the city and also hsoritcal contact. V efire Australia was even colonized Cape Town was a thriving commercial center But it is not only the city itself - but also Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschoek that adds vaule to the cty iself,

The fact is also while South Africans struggle financially due to high living costs foreigners with income from foreign sources inhabitants and tourists from foreign counries live and visit Cape Town found the city cheap to visit due to the exchange rates. In the end it is made much more attrative as a city to live in and visit in the world. Take for instance King Charles - four of his nephew and nieces from Charles Spencer side live and grew up in Cape Town. Those four are cousins of Prince William and thus closely related to the House of Montbatten-Windsor, and two of them actually married South Africans - one of which is related to Nic Mallett. Those are just examples of hundreds of foreign millionairs who live in Cape Town, Stellenbosch and Franschoek,

Unfortunately despite the efforts of the Western Cape to maintain standards - the South A frican Government did more damage to South Africa on the same level as happeened in the rest of Africa.

The other problem related to the Western Cape is the level of home prices in SA. When people moved from other Provinces in South Africa to the Western Cape Province houses cost them a fortune in the Western abd Guarden Route areas, It is like moving from chaos into another country. A 4 bedroom house on in a place like Riversdale cost about 100 000 pounds - ie about $US 130 000. For foreigners that is chicken feed But then you get parts of Knysna, Mosselbaai and George where South Africans must be multi-millionaires to buy homes - especially in Knysna, Wildernes, Stilbaai, Gouritzrivier Mond, Jomgenfoein and Whitesands where homes can cost mor than a $US1 million and more In most of those towns people speak Englsh with foreign accent and dialect and cannot speak Afrikaans at all. No woder there are so many foreigners living in the Western and Southern Cape area and they have an impact on surveys than the one quoted above.

I read some American articles that call S outh Africa a friendly an vey nice place to visit and recently met some youngsters from the USA who could not believe how cheap they claim prices in SA are, For them it is wonderful for a person like me it is not and in their terms I may be worth a few million Rand in SA - for me I am a pauper,

I wish I could get some nice adds once in a while. I only ever really watch YouTube.

...and it's algorithm seems to think I'm a constipated woman, suffering from anxiety and also dealing with an unplanned pregnancy.

Blob...IMO the most beautiful place in the world...I love it to bits, but it's terrible seeing it been destroyed...we'll adapt and make it work...we have to, but there are huge challenges...Cape Town and my Boland will always be home...regardless of the plunder...we need a strong leader, but there's only crooks... :-(

Draad we had berg wind conditions for two days and the people here calls it a "False Summer". The problem is that after such conditons the rain routinely comes and we are back to mid-wnter again.

It's going downhill fast...unfortunately.

I spent a lot of time there recently, still such a fantastic place.... stunning and just beautiful in so many different ways

But yeah..... the slow encroachment is coming....streadily but consistent.....sadly
