The Zumanoids tried to get Mkhwebane appointed as Public Protector to replace their main head ache Madontsela and was much delighted by Parliament recommending her appointment. After all - she was an agent of the State Security Department and started off with reports supporting Zuma ideals.
She made a mess of the Bankorp Issue and after consuktation with Zuma and State Security came up wioth a report thrown out by the North Gauteng High Court for obvious reasons. As a result of the report and court findings there were already efforts in Parliament to get rid of her. But the remaining Zumanoids in the ANC kicked out proposals to sack her.
She was forced to investigate the Vrede Dairy Project from which project only the Guptas and their cronies in the Free State cabinet benefitted and that was another mess. She tried to protect the real crooks in the Free State Provincial Government and never even interviewed them - throwing only some staff members under the bus. That obviously was not acceptable by the North Gauteng High Court who decided that the report submitted by her was not worth the paper it was written on.
The question now is - will Ramaphosa and the ANC Parliamentarians continue to support her as Public Protector? My guess is that she will remain as another person appointed may continue the good work done by Madontsela.
