The gang was arrested and weapons confiscated. They were involved in a series of similar crimes.
The army has moved into the Cape Flats townships to root out the gangsters, The problem is Zuma destroyed the Western Cape Police and what was left was a mess of gigantic proportions. The Police leadership was worse than the gangster leaders - so no gangster leaders were arrested,
A little reminder lest we forget.......Cape Town always had gangsters.......at age 10, I watched a fatal stabbing in broad daylight in Constitution Street on the corner of Trafalgar School.......other than picking up the body and dumping it in the back of a paddy wagon nothing else was ever done. Unlike these days there was no reporting of the story just as there was no reporting of countless other stabbings and murders in the townships or everywhere else in South Africa where white people weren't affected. A belated welcome to the South Africa I knew and grew up in.

The world is full of gangsters and Cape Town in particular is no stranger to these incident, but it's getting out of hand and the gangs are getting bolder by the day...they are venturing into new areas daily.
There was a shooting at a mini mall close to my home just a couple of months ago...attempted assassination of a gang boss...he survived, but some people got shot...no fatalities except for the would be assassin (I think).
PS, Denny....white people in SA has been at the wrong end of lawlessness since 1652, so I can't really understand your last comment.
