I get the point, sanctions are regrettable. But all these outcomes they suggest aren’t going to happen. We are talking about oil, a universally needed commodity. The Russians will sell their oil, but at lower prices. They won’t have to default and if they do their terms of trade will be permanently damaged.

The positive is this has drawn a clear line under Germany’s naive energy policies. And NATO has decided not to fight. With Ukrainians and Russians dying every day sanctions are a necessary message.

Putin has made a mistake, the West is not going to bail him out.

When people are poor inflation causes starvation.  You may not be in the category - but is more stupid than any of the poor could be,    The wealthy do not mind inflation the middle class, pensioners  and laborers are destroyed by it.

The next stage that is being reached is that the USA  import virtually all its fertilizers from Russia.   The farmers cannot plant or sow  because without fertilizers the crop would be too little to cover costs.   So what is bound to happen?    Not enough food in the shops with prizes rising rapidly.   

That is followed by real starvation.   Biden is an idiot - but who are worse are those people in the Democratic Party who thinks that  wheat, maize,  vegetables and fruit somehow are provided  by the shops and has nothing to do with farming.

By the way their is another problem in the USA supported by grant funding and financial assistance.   The Japanese did it first - now the Chinese are doing it.   They buy up huge areas of farmland and  create processing plants.   So the meat wheat, maize and other foodstuffs are processed and exported to China.- that will also inevitably lead to starvation in the USA,.                  .         

Polls in the US and EU have shown that over 70% of people support sanctions even if it means higher energy costs.

People will only realize what the cost of the sanctions are going to be when they do not have money to pay for gas and food at a higher price and cannot cater for their family needs.   At this  stage  propaganda prevails - but how long will that holds true? 

By the way there is a problem with food supply in South Africa  already.   In normal circumstances  farmers use fertilizers before planting or sowing since they do not get a financially viable  return if not using fertilizers.   Now there is a huge problem - like in the USA and  South Africa  90% of the fertilizers used are imported from Russia.   So today  when going shopping there were no vegetables of a certain kind available in the local shops and although it does not affect the main meals at this stage - it will affect the future availability of most vegetables and wheat products in the USA. and South Africa - as well as in all other western countries.    

No local food production in the USA an SA will inevitable lead to  starvation and starvation leads to revolutions.    So the USA and other western countries are on thin ice in this case and the ice is getting thinner..    In the end countries in the EU and USA - as well as countries in Africa will have a choice - break the sanction of face serious unrest and upheavals.    It would not take much to start a civil war in the USA - the Biden Administration has caused so much shit already for the people - they are already being hated by the majority of people in the USA.      .        .

The isolation and agendas of the West against Russia has always been around throughout history.During the Cold War era it was out of fear. After the dismantling of the USSR, the fear motive has eased but distrust by the ignorant masses has not disappeared entirely...it just needed any crisis to happen so that they could all gang up against an entity that does not fit their status quo's which is one mind, one thought, one control and ultimately obedience to one world government.

I heard someone here very shallow person, say something like, Oh, but Russia has a relatively small economy, well that might be true in a certain degree but totally irrelevant, but what is has in resources potential, ie "untapped" diamonds, gold, oil, timber , etc is probably more than the rest of the world, certainly in land space. It's size stretches from the borders of Norway, Latvia, Estonia in the west through to Japan in the far east in Kamchatka.

If the West wants anything it would like to see China and Russia give up their quest for additional territory, allow open communication, conduct transparent elections, stop jailing the opposition, stop stealing industrial secrets and compete in a free global market to the benefit of all.

Russia has no quest for additional territory at all.   The fact is that the people of Crimea voted for union with Russia - after the unconstitutional change of Government in Kiev in 2014.   A number of opinion polls conducted by institutes from the USA and Germany done before and after the election confirmed that it reflected the overwhelming support for Russian Unification.    The USA and EU said the election was unconstitutional - but was the Coup in Kiev in 2014 constitutional - must answer that simple question and do it honestly.   The Crimea referendum was a direct result of the said coup.    So 90% + of the voters wants to have zero to do with Ukraine.

Why is the Russians living in the Crimea to be subjected to the Ukraine Government?    Or does freedo of peopele only count when it fits the leftist regimes and media?   Anyway the real reason is that  NATO  wants to get their hands on the Rusisan naval facilities in the Crimea  anyway. 

Secondly - the Kiev coup resulted in a civil war that started in 2014 and never ended.   18 000 Russian speaking citizens died as a result - and the Kiev Government used the Ukraine Army to try and get back the territory they lost in the Civil War thus far in eastern Ukraine.   Despite all the  Jeremiads  by you - the Rusisan speaking people of the Donbas basin was under constant threat of attack  and in fact attacked by the Asov battalion/ - the Stav claim is not a factor..    It remains a serious organization used for oppression and murder purposes in Odessa in particular.    .   .
