Our client, Lauren Handy, had discovered the remains of the D.C. Five outside of the notorious late-term abortionist Cesare Santangelo’s facility…
For Lauren, the remains of these babies evidenced a crime—infanticide—especially because Santangelo had already admitted on video he would allow babies to be born alive and left to die.
That’s why she helped to organize a rescue at his late-term abortion mill in Washington, D.C.
And for that, the Biden Department of Justice came after her forcefully with the full weight and power of the federal government.
Lauren has good reason to believe that babies are being born alive and left to die inside that facility. She knew she had to stand up for her preborn brothers and sisters at risk.
Instead of any urgent, full-blown investigation into what happened to the D.C. Five—and what is happening inside Santangelo’s abortion mill—Lauren has been left languishing in jail after being convicted on felony conspiracy and FACE Act charges for her brave protest.
Instead of any perpetrator of what was done to the D.C. Five, it’s rather Lauren who has been branded a “violent criminal” and unjustly jailed even before being sentenced.
She’s facing a formal sentence of up to 11 years in federal prison for advocating on behalf of these innocent preborn babies.
We’re fighting on multiple fronts in this critical battle. We’re readying for Lauren’s sentencing hearing on May 14 and preparing our hard-hitting appeal on her behalf—which will go to the source of this injustice to challenge the constitutionality of the FACE Act.
We’re also keeping up the pressure to make sure that justice for the D.C. Five is achieved. Congress must investigate what happened to these precious preborn babies and take corrective action!
Their remains are graphic evidence of the barbarism of abortion, and they must not be forgotten. They also deserve a dignified religious burial, and we’re advocating on their behalf to make sure that the authorities in Washington, D.C. relinquish them for a proper burial when a necessary and proper investigation is completed.
