Looks like there are papers being published with the claim that mushrooms are growing on Mars.

Fungus on Mars

I mentioned mycelium on here previously. The thread-like networks of the fungal vegetative body, which are to the plant and animal kingdom what us humans are to skyscrapers. Nothing short of amazing chemistry going on with this stuff.

We can just barely get our heads around how mycelium forms, regulates and evolves the relationships that it does with other organisms present in the soil. It only has a single cell wall yet regulates entire ecosystems from the bottom up.

Easily one of the smartest organisms on the planet and damn nice to see it's a frontrunner in the panspermia hypothesis.

The "mushrooms on Mars and fungi on Venus" theory is a worn out, debunked idea that appears like clockwork, about once a year. The headlines certainly are interesting -- imagine if we found fungi on Mars or Venus! It would literally rewrite our ideas about life in the cosmos -- but the articles rarely interrogate the scientific evidence for the wild claims.

Part of me wants to let it slide because in some cases any publicity really is good publicity, but this is bad science and some websites have erroneously headlined articles with "Scientists Found Evidence of Fungus Growing on Mars" when that is simply not the case.

So, let's pull back the curtain and explain what is really going on (again!)

Your article claims to have found fungus, and suggests this "may" be a sign of life.
Fungus is life - full stop.

The problem is that if this is not fungus.

Fact check ButtPlug, fact check...
Make sure you consider multiple sources of information to be more objective and impartial- therefore more scientific and logical instead of being driven by emotional bias.

Hence, the hypothesis of panspermia.

No surprise that a Trumpanzee would be dumb enough to believe an article he found on the internet that contradicts the mainstream scientific view (which is supported by an actual visit to Mars) . . . . but more to the point. . . why would someone from planet Meton be surprised at life on other planets?

It is not a well-reasoned hypothesis, nor is it objective-  so it can't claim to be science.
The scientific community has laughed it off and debunked it ages ago...

"Well-reasoned" you say, Viskop?

I'd say that panspermia is rather well reasoned.

I guess you didn't know this...

Black mold can survive Mars

Anyway, here's a 30-minute talk on mycelium. (Edit - The first 15 minutes is relevant here.)

Stuff's really amazing.

Must say Rooi never forgets Planet Meton gaff, Plum...LOL

That's quite funny.

One day I'll tell you how it came about, S eb.

The story of how it came about began one day when ButtPlug was asked to provide photographic proof of a UFO.
He then provided a picture of a car hubcap.... It was a blunder of epic proportions, to a scale never seen before.
Eruptions of laughter spread across the world uniting humanity like never before seen.
ButtPlug then returned for a hiatus on planet Meton.

Hahaha

But you are missing the important part where YOU asked for a clear picture of a UFO.

As I recall, you were unhappy with a squadron commander's testimony accompanied by Ratheon IR footage in the article I had linked.

"Why is there not one clear picture?"  Thinking, in your tiny brain, that it was some kind if gotcha question.

I then provided you with a clear picture.

The image was clear, which is all you asked for. But as with every clear picture, it's too easy to fake and always impossible to verify.

Ergo...clear pictures = meaningless. Almost as meaningless as your "Why are there no clear pictures?" question.

I'll try to summarise, because I know you need it...

It's embarrassing enough to have a circle run around you. Worse so, if one is, as you are, entirely oblivious as to it occurring.

Haha you plank.

Nope. That's just a lie. Here is the original thread. Note the bit where ButtPlug states the following:
"You want clearer images.

Here's one taken in 1956 by a female South African pilot as she was flying above one. The original photos were auctioned off recently.

1950s Photoshop?"
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahaha! 1950s photoshop? Sure sounds like you were trying to discredit your own photo . . . which was of a hubcap being chucked in the air!
LMAO!
Try again, Ayling.

I cannot believe that you still can't see it.

You'll note that we never returned to the original point RE Fravor and the FLIR footage, after this.

Care to do so now?

Or do you tits want another clear pic, since obviously clear pics, in your world, constitute conclusive evidence?

Billy Meier has quite the collection. Feel free to Google him.

Not from Meton though, sorry to say.

ButtPlug, I know it's very hard for you to admit you made a gigantic fool of yourself but one day, when you're wearing your big boy pants and you summon up the courage (use your imagination here) to admit your humiliating gaffe, we can have a good laugh about this:

"You want clearer images.

Here's one taken in 1956 by a female South African pilot as she was flying above one. The original photos were auctioned off recently.

1950s Photoshop?"

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahaha!

Lolz

I know you need to believe that so I'll put my big boy pants on and allow you to.

Still, fancy having a crack, as a requested in that thread, at the topic that I actually raised?

UAPs or co-orientated military and government lies?

I never did get that option C) from your similarly dimwitted pal.
