These kiwis are so disgusting!! Ou JW probably has a house right there! Whole place is a big pong!

Nearly 40 Auckland beaches are overwhelmed by faecal contamination and deemed unsafe for swimming after heavy rain hit the area on Saturday.

Auckland Council's SafeSwim website has issued warnings for 37 beaches, saying there is a high risk of illness from swimming.

The "high risk of illness" alert is triggered when there's a greater than 2 percent chance of getting sick from swimming at a beach.

eavy rain fell in Auckland on Friday and Saturday, which is one of the causes of poorer water quality at beaches.

"Rainfall after long spells of dry weather can also carry a 'first flush' of dirty water through the stormwater network onto beaches and into urban waterways - including water contaminated with animal faeces, oil, metals and rubber from tyres, microplastics and litter," Auckland Council says.

"At beaches that are largely outside of urban areas and beside regional parks, water quality will often remain good despite large amounts of rain."

That remark about South Africans is offensive and  totally uncalled for.    The main reason for pollution of beaches  and coastal sea water is in the main malfunctioning  of Sewage treatment  plants resulting in  inadequately treated  sewage  being  pumped into the see.

People should rather complain to their local authorities about the issue/

Making a random posting about a tragedy in another country is insulting.
The sewerage floods in Durban were much worse, so it is also pointless . If people had gone into the water, they would certainly have been infected by shit.
It was total incompetence, and surfing was banned in all of Durban for over 1 month.

SB

I know about the Durban issue - the incompetence by the Municipality caused the problem,   The ANC Mayor was too busy looting the Municipality to pay attention to the crisis,     She has been fired and is now appearing in court  after her alleged involvement in bribery and corruption was discovered,

My point is that the Municipalities ruining water and sewerage services are responsible  for the mess,      Typical example of Socialism  at work,
