Exactly what the doctor ordered.
Central bank currencies are centralised because they can't ever hand out nodes/ blocks to outside parties. Central bank currencies are as decentralised as the office workers that work in their buildings. IE the space between them is the only decentralized aspect of the system.
Basically, the opposite of a decentralised blockchain.
Central banks are simply launching these currencies because they're afraid of being left behind. They're kaking themselves because they see the writing on the wall. And of course, nobody trusts central bankers so there are bound to be stories attempting to make it appear as if there is anything they can do about crypto. Most in the crypto community welcome regulation because when that happens then institutional money is far more likely to flow in. Many large family offices and hedge funds have been quoted as saying exactly that.
Beeno, from here on out, crypto will only have more doors opened for it...you'll see. It's not gonna diminish. It may morph as more usecases emerge, but i really wouldn't bet on it going away.
Plum I would love a monetary system that the Government cant control. But I think that they will wipe out any opposition.
What they are ultimately after if a one world digital currency with no rivals that they totally control.
