Looks like there have been some developments.

"In June, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence released a report that reviewed unidentified aerial phenomena seen since 2004, noting that 143 remained unexplained. Of those, 21 reports, involving 18 episodes, possibly demonstrated technological know-how unknown to the United States, such as objects moving without observable propulsion or with rapid acceleration that is believed to be beyond the capabilities of Russia, China or other terrestrial nations."
The journalist then follows this up with...
"Government officials said privately that there was no evidence of Russian or Chinese advanced technology in use, much less space-traveling aliens, in the information collected."
Note that one of the "unknown" cases relates to David Fravor and his squadron's encounter. One where everybody involved states a few distinct characteristics. The two standouts are performance and the fact that the objects intelligently responded to navy efforts.
According to Fravor, the object pointed itself directly at the navy jet as it approached, chose to mirror Fravor's aerial maneuvers, jammed their locking system, shot off at high speed, and then reappeared on radar at a pre-determined cap-point of which only Fravor's group and the carrier had knowledge. All of this was tracked on radar and was the culmination of a period of two weeks where the phenomenon was repeatedly tracked as well as being seen by personnel on deck.
Intelligent and highly advanced but it's not Russia, China or aliens.
If it's not aliens then someone here on earth has solved the world's energy problems and we need to find out who it is.
