Russia has been very unfortunate with their leaders over the years.

The opposition leader has just arrived in Russia from overseas after being poisoned- and was immediately arrested by the police.
Now any protests are getting brutally suppressed by Putin's henchmen...

Its just amazing ho win Russia. every single opposition leader of note that looks like a remote threat to Putin always ends up being arrested on corruption charges. Just amazing luck on Putin's part I guess..

Russia never had a democratic form of Government,   They had the Tsars who created Russia of today and who in the min was ineffective in oppression of people.   Some were ruthless and despotic - some were not,

They were succeeded by the Communists who killed off 52 million people the period   1917 to 1952 and was by some distance the worst dictators in the history of mankind,   Plain mass murderers and starvation was the lot of the people being the norm,   When the Communist Regime fell in 1992 they elected a politician as President who was a liberal - but totally ineffective.

The Russians then returned to strong man Government  and Putin took over,   There is one thin that is true - from a cultural perspective the country is a mile ahead of the USA - but not from a democracy perspective where they have a governance system the people for more than a thousand years were used to.

Are they a threat to the world today - definitely not.   Putin has more intelligence in his little toe than the idiotic Biden has in his whole senile head and corrupt body.    In Russia corruption is widespread - in the Obama-Biden establishment it became endemic.   I think that in future I would call the present US President Zuma Biden.
