While it is correct that Putin wanted to join NATO, this guy's angle is liberally tilted.

First thing first, Putin this, Putin that. Putin is nothing but a front for the interests that are represented.

So Putin wanted to join NATO as the interests he represents demanded it.

That is how the disagreement appeared. Expectations from both sides did not match.

The vid was watched just enough for Putin to express it: Russian expectations were to be considered a full on partner.West expectations were Russian interests are to be contained to the level of resource suppliers and cheap work force.

The divide appeared early as soon as the last year of William Clinton's presidency.

Fastforwarding to now, Russian interests have fully accepted the no go situation from the West while also admiting that they could grow bigger than they would have if they had joined the West as full on partners by taking their chance in the East.

The vid was watched enough to notice that the guy peddles the liberal narrative: Russia is a European country.

Which is a liberal way to state that they perceive Russia as a white race dominated country and therefore part of the big white tribe. A PC way to point out they conceive first things through a racial angle.

Obviously, liberals' devious ways prevent them from adressing the point directly so this guy sugarcoats it.

According to the liberal in the vid, Russia insulates itself when they think they are something separated from Europe with a special mission in human history.

Many countries think that way, Russian is nothing special. England thinks that way, France thinks that way, Germany thinks that way, Israel thinks that way, the US think that way.

All of them have a version of universalism.

Another point made in the vid: Russia is european as they waged wars with or in Europe.

European places brought a two millenia history of warfare with North Africa, the middle East, West and East Africa.

On this ground, Turkey is part of Europe.

Putin's become China's lackey.

Russia did not become the West's lackey. As to knowing the position of Russia relatively to China, it is too early to tell.

It is not in China's best interests to turn Russia in a lackey from the start.

Liberals usually oversize the weight of China in stuff.

Since it is an African web site, for example, liberals depict China as a debt danger for African countries, with stuff like debt trap.

Yet China holds like 20 per cent of the debt while the rest is owned to 80 per cent by the West (Japan, South Korea) included.

If there is a debt trap for African countries, it comes from the West.

Liberals, though, oversize China in many of these shady, dark situations. They lead by far.

You must be kidding.    The anti-Russian campaign in the USA media started shortly after 2000 and was never let go since then.    The relationship between Bush and Putin got frosty because of a difference of opinion on the Iraq War issue - since Russia and China initially vetoed  the US war plans in the Security Council - the USA and the UK went on regardless.

The Russians warned the USA about the two Chezian terrorists involved in the Boston bombing - the USA Government ignored the warning.    The Russians were also attacked on that score - since it showed up the total idiocy of the FBI and a cover-up was necessary.  

Under the Obama Administration the politico's in the USA were involved in a number of corruption scandals involving mainly the Uranium 1 sale to Russia - accompanied by the payment by Russia to the Clinton Foundation - as well as Biden, Pelosi  and John Podesta in which millions changed hands,   Mueller was appointed to investigate the Uranium 1 scandal and hushed it up,  That represents a problem - the bigger the scandal is the worse attacks on Russia became a daily fare in the USA media.   

In 2014 the matter got even worse.   The USA involvement in the 2014 coup in Ukraine was the start of further anti-Russian propaganda to off-set the fact that a Civil War broke out in Eatern Ukraine - the Russians being blamed to provide armamnets to the Ukraine rebels the Ukraine.   The USA wanted to get their hands on the Russian Black Sea fleet bases in the Crimea and Putin would have nothing off it.    After the coup the Constitution of Ukraine was abolished and that left the Crimea in a difficult situation - in terms of the Constitution the Crimea had their won Parliament to rule in the Crimea with the central government had limited central government functions.   Without the Constitution  the Crimea was at the mercy of the  Ukraine Government and the Crimea Parliament called for a referendum as to the future of the Crimea and the voters overwhelmingly supported an application to join the Russian Federation - which was implemented.    That resulted in further media Anti-Russian media hysteria in the USA.

That was followed by the lies concocted by the Obama Administration and the Democrats as to collusion between Trump and Putin.     The propaganda met maximum cov erage or nearly four years after that,    After that one was slowing down after the Mueller Special Coiuncil could find no proof of such collusion the media hysteria against got even worse.   there was no proof of anything on Government level even though the actual relationship under Trump was to try and found peaceful solutions   to international problems.   The next story he media cooked up was that  Putin was paying the Taliban bonuses for every US soldier killed in Afghanistan.     It turned out to be total BS as well.     

When Biden took over the Presidency in 2021 enmity to Russia became official policy.   and the USA sabotaged every effort to find a peaceful solution to the Ukraine problem and to end the civil war in Eastern Ukraine.   Since Biden became President he fcucked up everything he touched,    In his first and only meeting with Putin the issue eh raised was cyber attacks from Russia on US institutions.   Putin said in return that Biden must provide poof o his claim and Biden hen told him that the attacks came from a specific farm in the St Petersburg area.   Butin promised  to investigate attacks and then - knowing the American media hysteria he sent a team of experts (accompanied by western media journalists) to the specific fam and they found zo evidence of any such base ever existed.

Russia wanted after 1991 when the Communist Government collapsed strie for friendly relationship with the West - the US Government sabotaged every attampt to firge such a relationship.
