Quirky Covid stats

The NY Times published some stats today showing the vaccination benefit:

Cases for vaccinated and unvaccinated residents alike are rising:

Now what makes this interesting is the fact that properly conducted controlled studies show unboosted  but vaccinated people don’t have much advantage over unvaccinated in the case of contracting Omicron…which these stats are undoubtedly reflecting.

No it’s not reflecting difference in numbers of vacced vs unvaccinated….because it’s per 100000.

But could it be that vaccinated people are just much more careful with contact. Bingo….the difficulty of getting good stats.

What’s not in question is whether vaccination helps if you get Omicron. In that case both measured groups have the disease, it’s a level playing field and as these charts show you are much better off being vaccinated:

What vaccination does is radically reduce the chance of severe Covid illness. Look how different these charts on hospitalizations looks from the previous charts on cases:

Moz, your pictures aren't viewable, so I can't comment on the stats, but I think that most people agree that the vacs provide good protection against serious illness and death...as does natural immunity...but we also know that stats are minipulated and poorly interpreted by media pundits...anything negative about the vacs are censored and naysayers are aggressively being "canceled"...like with "climate science" and the "woke" agenda, there's a clear "vax or bust" agenda...nothing is said about the long term risks...

I don't know if there's some sinister agenda driving this...and I can't really understand why things are happening like they are, but something is way off.

Just a question -f the droves of  Democrat Members of Congress, Governors and Mayors and Councilors goes to Florida to party it away and forbid their voters from doing the same - arw rhey really believing their own   rules and restrictions?  

Sorry about that….hopefully the charts are now viewable. I should also add that the vaccinated people are likely to include the majority of the vulnerable. So these gross stats, I’d anything, should under state the benefit.
