We are starting to see division amongst conservatives...
We have the sensible conservatives who want to move past Trump, and then we have the conspiracy rednecks that love Trump. (e.g. people that believe Fauci created Covid).
Conservatives like Liz Cheeney want to follow the rule of law and the constitution.
She has earnt a lot of respect from both liberals and independents.
Ideology is subjective, but it is admirable to see someone stand for what they believe in.
If America can get over the current problems, she is certainly a candidate to be president.
Trump's base is the anti-vaxxers and below-average IQ monkeys.
They have gotten far too much attention over the last 2 years. They need to go back to their mother's basement and be removed from society again
If Trump does get back into power, I guarantee that he will install himself for life.
His biggest Donor - Pieter Theil has stated that he believes that Democracy is no longer the best way to ensure freedom. This doos injects himself with blood from young people to prolong his life, and he spends much of his fortune on research to prolong his life. (e.g freeze himself in carbon to be brought back to life in the future).
Trump will be the American Putin or/and Kim Jon Chun. His biggest fans will eventually become his biggest haters, once they understand that Trump is a conman that is playing on the fears of working-class white people about the great replacement theory. He just talks about poor white grievances - like Tucker Carlson - but he has no real solutions. He is not interested, because he is not a public servant. It is purely about him.
Some people are not suited to being president due to their psychological makeup. When these people do get into power, they just get worse and worse over time. (especially when they appoint themselves for life).
If Trump goes to jail, there is going to be a major overhaul of the conservative party. Some will be in jail, while others will just get pushed out.
I would like to see conservatives pushing a middle-class agenda ( e.g. low tax for everyone, not just millionaires).
