Stav

Riots apparently broke out after a migrant raped a ten year old girl and the people gathered to protest against migrants flooding into Ireland and undermining the Irish culture,

I never expected that from the Irish people - but the same is happening politically in France, Germany and the UK.

I only saw a short news item on UK TV news reports and to hear fom you what is going on. Watch the following video as well:-

Just the usual rent a mob crowd using the incident as an excuse to riot. The police knew it was coming though as they could see it was being planned online in advance so were ready for them. 30 arrests so far.

So rent a mob is possible in Ireland - but not in the USA? I think the Police did well under provoked circumstances.

I am more interested in your opinion on an issue as to what cause the riots = od ot t e same po;itical feelings that cause rise in rightwing support in France, Germny and the UK,

In view of the placards carried by some rioters they support Trump - weird idea that one - so is Trump to blame for the riots?.

When I said rent a mob I don't mean someone actually paid them to go out and riot, but their is certain crowd of gurrier in Irish society (you get more of them around Dublin) that will use any excuse to go out and riot and anti-immigration is just the thing at the moment.

The No Kings Protest in the US was estimated to be around 7 million strong (good luck renting that many people) and passed for the most part very peacefully. I believe 100,000 turned out in New York and not one person was arrested. What's happening in Dublin is on a much smaller scale and clearly not meant to be a peaceful protest, rioting is the purpose of it.

If you have an issue with a countries immigration and asylum policies, you have every right to go out and protest peacefully. If you want change, do it at the ballot box.

As I said there is a certain anti authority element in Ireland looking for excuse to go out and carry out acts of vandalism, as well as acts of intimidation and violence but they are also being incited by hateful anti immigrant rhetoric that's flooding social media the last few years, which misleads them into thinking they have popular support for their actions.

The alleged incident that supposedly trigger this event is indeed shocking but literally on the same day as the incident is said to have occurred a 44 year old Irishman from Dublin was convicted and sentenced to 18 years on multiple accounts of raping and sexual abusing his 5 year old daughter over a three year period as well as well as falsely imprisoning and severely beating his wife and mother of the child. I point this out because these people never riot or cause disturbances when its an Irish person involved in such incidents. They don't care about women or children, they only care if the skin colour of the perpetrator isn't white.

Hundreds of Catholic Priests in Ireland sexually abused literally thousands of children in Ireland over a period of decades which the church hierarchy covered up and then after it was made too kicking and screaming I might add only offered half hearted apologies. Similar things happened in other countries and no one is really certain if it's still going on to some degree. Now it absolutely caused a huge degree of anger here in Ireland but at no stage was their an organised campaign of arson attacks on church, rioting and violence or calls for the Church to be kicked out of the country. Bit of a double standard.

But the people inciting acts like these don't care or are too brainwashed themselves too even notice the double standard.

Thanks Stav

Bar one sisue - even the Democrats who organize the protests and would have been happier if they turn into riots estimated he turn-out to be much lower than 7 million participants, Some mentioned 3 million - others even less.

In a country where there were 155 million voters who voted in 2024 a trunout of 7 million was megligible and really meaningless.

In New Yorik it was claimed that 100 000 people partake in the protests - ion the same day there was an eelction capaign meeting in neighbouring New Jersey attended by 130 000 voters addressed by Trump. There is a Governor election in that state and the Demcorats are in panic mood already. The Mayor of one of the ciies in NewJersey is camapigning to get the Republican Party candidate elected,
