Loved sport especially cricket and rugby and threw his weight behind Australia's challenge to wrest the America's Cup from America. Who will forget the euphoria that swept the country when Australia won it with our Prime Minister leading the celebrations.
I'll never forget him saying "If you don't believe in yourself, well then don't expect anyone else to believe in you." It pretty much epitomizes to this day Australians in every sport in which they compete.
Bob was a rare breed, that's for sure.
