Lets hear from you. Why do you think the status quo must remain?
Rooitwit tell us why you think open borders is a great idea
That provides no answer Bozo.
This was in answer to ou Maaik's question:
"RooinekOne simple question - are you in favour of open borders allowing in migrants without impediment? "
And I replied . . .
"Ummmm . . . ou Maaik, are we talking US borders or South African borders?"
Followed 15 minutes later by . . .
"Ou Maaik seems to have gone missing.
If it's our South African borders then no.
If it's USA borders then I can't say I care that much either way . . . but I will say this, Bozo's Servile Gimp Sarah Sanders said on Fox News (surprise surprise) that 4000 suspected terrorists had been arrested on the southern border between October 2017 and October 2018) so the Trumpanzees got themselves all worked up and started chanting "we demand a wall" and waving placards saying things like "promises made promises kept" and droning on about Hillary's emails and the deep state and the horrors of globalization (as brainwashed Trumpanzees tend to do when they get a bit agitated) . . . and then, after all that, it turned out that the number wasn't 4000 at all. Sanders either lied or was too stupid to know the difference but the real number wasn't 4000, it was . . . ummmmm . . . 6!
Bozo only wants the Wall for one reason and that is to feed his bloated and out-of-control ego by leaving a Trump Wall legacy.
The Wall is stupid. It won't have an impact on drugs, trafficking or illegal crossings and even if it did (use your imagination here) the cost of building an efficient Wall is way beyond the $5.7bn that your pal Mr Art of the Deal Bozo thinks it is . . . the cost of the land alone would be more than that never mind the difficulties of building this thing through rivers, jungle and mountains.
It's a very stupid idea that only stupid people or paranoid xenophobic half-wits would support."
If I had to add to that, I'd say that the other reason why open borders is a great idea is because it gets the right-wing globalist conspiracy theorists bug-eyed and foaming at the mouth.
Walls have problems of its own. There are two ways to look at it and both are negative - the only reasons are -
* to keep people in - ie the Berlin wall; and
* to keep people out.
The Berlin Wall was effective and cruelly administered until the collapse of the Communist regime in East Germany, The orders to guards were to shoot even when people got too near to the wall itself.
The Chinese built the Great Wall of China to keep the Mongols out and did help for a few centuries as a success - but the empire itself collapsed and allowed the Manchurian conquerors to take over and install the Manchu dynasty of emperors.
The Israeli's built a wall to keep Palestinians out of what they regard as a safekeeping of Israel as a state - another monstrosity that has cost many lives and impoversihed many people when their land was simply taken away,
There could be arguments about the proposed wall on the south Border of the USA. The answer is that it does not work and is effectively overcome by tunneling, but modern technology makes tunneling very ineffective as a smuggling mechanism.
I am not convinced that a wall is actually a good idea, but can understand the unhappiness of the majority of US citizens about the present situation. The wall can be effective if there are watchtowers within sight of each other and night lighting is provided as well.
Bearing in mind the distances involved - some control mechanism is required to provent human trafficking and smuggling. Unless fences are electrified on its own it is not effective and electric fences have a huge potential of causing death to both humans and animals.
I would rather leave it to the Americans themselves to what they decide on the issue. Trump has the support of the majority in the Senate and the DP HOR members are actually divided on the issue. I do not think the wall is a Trump campaign either and will not get through Congress without permission by the majority, Most House of Representatives DP members with dicey majorities are unlikely to vote against the wall and there are at least 50 of those. Fact is Schumer and Pelosi can only count on members from California and New York for strong support and the rest would go with what they think could help them in the 2020 election . Pelosi and Schumer will not help them to get re-elected and the Southern Border situation would be another campaign issue,
Duplication
Beeno why do you presume someone that thinks bozos wall is a stupid idea is for open borders?
Im for tight border controls like most people but dont think its the best/most cost effective solution.
The berlin wall is mentioned as an effective barrier but that was more to do with the open ground, barbed wire and shoot to kill order of the guards more than the wall and i cant see America implementing that policy.
From the info i have read the biggest threats (drugs/terrorist) are not coming on foot over the Mexican border.
A wall will kurb uman trafficking for one. Legislation for the wall was passed more than a decade ago, but the funding was never approved.
Most politicians were in favour of the wall, bu t are all against it because Trump wants it. This is about opposing Trump and has nothing to with the wall.
Draad
The problem in the US is that legislation as to the wall was passed - but no funds were provided so it remained outstanding during the Obama presidency, Fact is that the previous administrations made election promises which they never implemented - one of the reason for Trump selection.
Despite the virulent media campaigns Trump is very likely to be re-elected as President in 2020.
...bean brain, in case y ou missed it, here's the latest advice Fat Donny has for the Mexicans..

Mike, funds were provided back then to build a 700 mile wall, which worked and did it's job
In August 1989 there were about 100 000 East Germans in Hungary on holiday, They refused to go back and remained in Hungary, With large numbers of refugees from Romania in camps as well, the Hungarian Communist Government was in trouble - they did not have the wish to keep the people properly and when the matter was discussed by an Hungarian and Von Habsburg as head of the Pan_European Union it was agreed to have a Picnic near the Austro-Hungarian border in Hungary.
The border was opened for the day of the Picnic and about 70 000 (mostly Germans) people fled to the west through Austria. Afterwards the border was closed again - but the result was that a refugee was killed and the Hungarian President had a meeting with Kohl and informed him that the Hungarian Government decided to open the border totally o allow for refugees to leave Hungary, Kohl phoned Gorbachev to try and convince him not to interfere with the Hungarian decision - but it was not necessary as Gorbachev told him the Hungarian President was a good man who could be trusted.
This was a sign of things to come and the uprising against Communism in East Germany commenced, In a desperate effort to contain the situation the East German Regime sent out signals that they intended to open the border themselves, It was overtaken by hundreds of thousands of people from both side going to the wall and starting to destroy it,
APD
Thanks for that info - but fact is the 700 kilometer wall did not solve the problem and it got worse as time went by.
If you drive on the N1 North past Pretoria, you'll eventually come to an offramp to Hammanskraal. The offramp has a toll so, to stop people going past the toll without paying and joining up with the dirt roads in the township, they built a big brick wall. Every hundred metres or so, the residents have bashed down the wall and erected a wire gate where young kids operate little mini-booms that allow people to bypass the offramp toll and enter the township . . . for a price slightly less than half the toll fee.
Good luck building a perimeter wall. Don't use bricks . . . or steel . . . or copper . . . or anything that could possibly have any value.
Moat with crocks...or a dry one with lions or snakes.
I suspect Dense's footwear would be more effective.
You've got me!
So according to Trump who should get fired for the shutdown ??
