Putin is hosting a summit of African leaders and sends a couple of nuclear bombers to Africa to impress.
Trump is surrounded by democrats snarling at his tailcoats and Putin just waltzes into Africa with his big guns.

This seriously has nothing to do with Trump. Ramaphosa is in trouble with the Russians after cancelling the Zuma agreement with Russia as to nuclear power plant construction and knows that the visit is temporary and the Russian planes would not be around for long - probably only for the annual SA Air Force Day performances
I would have been more worried if it was China military involved. They have much more economic involvement in SA and are already active in Zimbabwe.
I do not think the Trump administration are bothered overmuch about SA because of the corruption under Zuma and the USA has had an acting Ambassador in SA since 2017. Trump now appointed a lady who were borne in SA and grew up here as Ambassador to SA - she speaks aside from English three other local languages fluently - so there may be some improvement in relationship in future.
Low water levels at Kariba have led to power outages in Zambia and Zimbabwe,they now look to RSA to import it as if we have an endless supply.
Russia has nuclear power earmarked for Zambia,Rwanda,Ethiopia,Egypt and Nigeria.We almost went into major debt under Zuma with Putin's nuclear programme but they havn't given up.
Disappointed.......is all I can say.
