Rusty Bowers bites the dust

Study the past seven weeks of the political life of Rusty Bowers, and you will understand the current crisis of the Republican Party. On June 21st Mr Bowers, who is the current speaker of the Arizona House of Representatives, testified before the congressional committee investigating the attack on the Capitol on January 6th 2021. He described the intense pressure campaign that Donald Trump and the former president’s legal advisers waged in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election to help nullify Joe Biden’s narrow election victory in Arizona. Mr Bowers rebuffed them, explaining that “to do what you do would be counter to my oath.” 

On July 19th the Arizona Republican Party formally censured Mr Bowers, ostensibly for unrelated reasons. Days later, Mr Trump held a rally in the state where he backed the speaker’s primary challenger, David Farnsworth, who has embraced the ex-president’s false claims that the last election was stolen, and called Mr Bowers a “rino coward” (Republican In Name Only). On August 2nd Mr Bowers lost to him by a margin of nearly 30 percentage points.

The lesson here is nobody likes a Quisling, whether you agree with him or not. Trump, for all his faults strides the political world like a colossus. The anti Trumpers on here really have to accept once again they misjudged the scene.

What was Bowers to do? Just comply with Trump's request to cheat in the election? 
Trump lost Arizona, just like he lost in Georgia.

Just like how the Georgia Republicans refused to just "find him votes"...
If they had followed Trump's request, they would be complicit in election fraud.

They were loyal Republicans that were no different from other conservatives. Now suddenly they are terrible people . If Trump says they are shit, they instantly became shit. 

If you had been in their jobs, what would you have done? 
1. Cheat in the election or not?
2. Defy a legal court subpoena to testify or not?

Whoever hooks up with Trump goes down at some point in time, whether you are with him or against him. 

Bowers is religious and said that he believes that the US constitution is divinely inspired, and therefore he was doing God's work by following the Democratic will of the people. He is also sworn at oath to uphold the US and Arizona constitutions. 

Bowers may have lost, but he can go to his grave with his conscience that he upheld his oath to his office- even if Trumpanzees believe that the US no longer needs to be Democratic. 

It is not clear if this is a White supremacist attitude, or just rich shareholders that have gotten away ripping off the tax system with deferred loans etc- and just don't think the law applies to them... 
What has happened to America...

No US president has ever attempted anything like this. Although why are people supporting him? If would not happen in the past, the US has changed. 

It is not over for Republicans like Cheney and Bowers. They may be back if there is a massive change in personnel in the Republican party- if many are locked up or expelled etc. Although, that could lead to civil war. 
America has peaked as a society unfortunately if they don't turn things around soon. 

You miss the context….Russian collusion, politically inspired impeachment hearings and a failure on the part of the media to report honestly. In that kind of environment to survive the administration had to take on the institutions that were trying to destroy it including the deep state . Yes January 6th spun out of control. But it’s real authors were those who tried to destroy Trump’s presidency.

The point is not that hacks like Bowers are trying  to be part of the establishment. If all Republicans were firmly behind Trump the Mueller farce would never have happened.

To pretend it’s all Trumps fault is laughably naive.

Didn't Trump use the Russian collusion angle against Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election when she had missing emails etc? 

It may be that America has just become rotten to the core, with 2 evil corrupt political parties playing off their supporters, while the politicians on both sides of the aisle are involved in one corruption scandal after the next.

Although Boris Johnson while not as bad, also seemed laden in sleaze and villainy.
Perhaps Western Democracy has peaked, and the politicians have just found ways to undermine the integrity of the system through lobbyists. 

Many of them go into politics with little to no business experience, but when they finish their political careers suddenly they are experts in the business world and become billionaires. 

The average voter is not given a fair choice, because it is lobbyists that choose who is on the shortlist , to begin with.
For example, a middle-class conservative agenda where everyone pays lower tax, not just the richest 3%. 

Hunter Biden is a crack head that seems to go from one scam to the next to fund his addiction. 

I remember seeing a person where I grew up - go diving for crayfish at night all of the time to fund his crack addiction. (Which is illegal). He was like Hunter Biden.

What prove have you that  Trump instructed anybody to cheat in the election in 2020.    You have zilch proo0f of that.    The real cheating was by the Democrats and the courts are still ruling on issues where legal compliance in some states were missing and a few hundred fraudsters - all Democrats - have been sent to jail already.     The fact is the Democrats cheated and that has been proven over and over again in the courts - but till now there was no real evidence that it would have changed the election outcome.

Bowers was feeling the heat and the voters rejected him - because there were a clique of Republican Party voters who opposed Trump all along.    Most of them did not vote for him in either 2016 and 2020.    Example the Cheney's included.   There have been crooked politicians  in both parties - but the crooks in the Republican Party are  being rooted out slowly, while those in the Democratic Party are expanding operations.   I believe Bowers and a few other Republicans  in Arizona has huge business deals with China and they are being sent packing as well.   

By he way the  Republican crooks you support are all screaming they are conservatives.    Your hero  Romney has links with Bains and still get benefits from the company    Bains was a ge partner in the destruction of SA through corruption under Zuma and there are now calls  for them to be expelled from operating in SA,   The Cheney's are tied to Haliburton - one of the 5 most crooked companies in the USA regarded as such by the public.

So back to the primaries in the USA.   Next week are the primaries in Alaska and Wyoming - Senator Muzorski is trying t get re-elected and so is Cheyne in Wyoming.   Both got massive contributions from Democrat funders - but that is unlikely to get them elected as candidates for the Republican Party.    

By the way the fact is the real reason Cheyne went for Trump was the believe she  harbored about becoming the main  leader of the Republican Party.    She tried desperately to influence members of the House - where she was third in the Republican Party hierarchy in the House and she got kicked out of the position after the vote to  impeach Trump - one of her father's pet hate campaign against  Trump  went sour as a result.   She will definitely not be elected as House member from Wyoming - where she is likely to get less than 33% of the vote next week despite massive financial support from Democratic Party donors.   .

You must be  off your rocker again.  There was zero collusion between Trump and the Russians in the 2016 election.   The whole story and subsequent investigations proved  that the Democrats - and that include Obama, Biden and Clinton concocted the story against Trump based on lies they spread.    So where did your story came from about Hillary's e-mails being connected to Russia.   The e-mails related to lies she concocted and sent to her partners.   - but the main issue related to the Benghazi incident in 2014,    Clinton destroyed her computer and especially its main drive to prevent the issue being regarded as a breach of security,   

As to Hunter Biden - the answer is simple - the crook in the Demcporatic Party leadership was always Joe Biden.   Hunter was just the cover used by Joe to deal with the crooked transactions he was and is involved in.

When the House passed a motion to grant Ukraine a further Billion Dollars in aid above the $40 billion military aid -  Pelosi and Schiff - who were both involved in Ukraine corruption in 2014 and since - rushed off to Ukraine to arrange for the kick-back payments.   - .       

Ultimately Trump lost the election, and then he tried to cheat. 

The Russian Hoax was believable to many people, because Trump just seems like a corrupt person. 

Al Gore was man enough to accept defeat, and Democratic supporters were gracious enough to accept defeat. (Any he had a much stronger case than Trump).

Republicans are scared that their ideology only appeals to older people. 
They need to find a newer brand of conservatism that appeals to younger generations, and to more races. (Not just White Christians). 

Trump gave Republicans the white working class- his base. The below-average IQ, and well below-average everything... Many of these people would normally not vote, or have even voted Democrat in the past.

However, he did not appeal enough to the white middle class, women in particular. 

Tax dodgers only make up about 3% of the population, which is Trump's rich base - so their impact on the election was minimal. 

Ultimately I asked for clarity on your above point and proof that you could provide supporting evidence,    You just avoid answering because you believe the fake news the media outlets you get all your propaganda from them and they are so despised in the USA that 92% of the voters regard them as liars and people cannot believe their BS, but you do.

What about the Clinton saga after she lost the election - she never admit she was defeated and the Democrats started the four year undermining of administration war.    If ever there were criminality involved 90% of what the Democrats did and 10% on what Trump did.
