Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) can't admit when he's wrong.

After last week's DOJ Inspector General report revealed that the FBI committed serious abuses while obtaining a warrant to spy on Trump campaign aide Carter Page - including fabricating evidence, Schiff was asked on Sunday by Fox News host Christ Wallace:

"Given what you know now … are you willing to admit that you were wrong in your defense of the FBI’s FISA process?"

To which Schiff replied: "I’m certainly willing to admit that the inspector general found serious abuses of FISA that I was unaware of."

Donald J. Trump?@realDonaldTrump

Schiff’s correcting the record memo has turned out to be totally wrong (based on the I.G. Report)! A very big lie. @MariaBartiromo And @DevinNunes has turned out to be completely right. Congratulations to Devin. The Fake News Media should apologize to all!

That's an odd way of admitting your entire thesis has been dead wrong for three years.

Schiff: Had I Known About the FISA Abuse, I Would Have Called Out the FBI
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

On this week’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) reacted to Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on the launch of the FBI’s Russia probe.

He said had he known two years ago that FBI was abusing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), he would have called them out.

Schiff said, “I’m certainly willing to admit that the inspector general found serious abuses of FISA that I was unaware of. Had I known of them, Chris, yes, I would have called out the FBI at the same time. But I think it’s only fair to judge what we know at the time, not what would be revealed two years later, but yes, there were very serious abuses of the FISA process, they need to be corrected, we need to make sure they never happen again.”

Even the Wall Street Journal is turning on Schiff:

The IG, Nunes and Schiff.  The Horowitz report reveals the Democrat’s many distortions.

Monday’s Justice Department Inspector General report on the FBI’s Trump -Russia probe is illuminating in many ways, not least the light it casts on the previous claims by politicians when they were telling the public about what they saw in classified documents. House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff in particular has been exposed for distortions and falsehoods.

Americans first learned about the FBI’s abuse of the FISA process in a February 2018 memo from then House Intelligence Chair Devin Nunes. The memo disclosed that the FBI had obtained surveillance warrants from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court against former Trump aide Carter Page ; that the dossier written by ex-British spook Christopher Steele and financed by the Clinton campaign had formed an “essential” part of that application; and that the FBI failed to tell the FISA court about Mr. Steele’s political and media ties.

This was news, but Mr. Schiff and Democrats called the Nunes memo false and weeks later released a rival summary of the classified FISA evidence. Now the IG has settled the debate by confirming the details in the Nunes memo and exposing Mr. Schiff’s untruths.

The third line of the Schiff memo reads: “FBI and DOJ officials did not abuse the [FISA] process, omit material information, or subvert this vital tool to spy on the Trump campaign.” False. IG Michael Horowitz’s report lists the many and varied ways the FBI did all of those.

This includes overstating Mr. Steele’s credibility, omitting concerns about his sources, hiding exculpatory information, and even doctoring a document. The IG is concerned enough by “the extensive compliance failures” that he says he has begun “oversight” to assess FBI compliance “with policies that seek to protect the civil liberties of U.S. persons.”

The Schiff memo also claimed that “DOJ cited multiple sources to support the case for surveilling Page—but made only narrow use of information from Steele’s sources about Page’s specific activities in 2016 . . .” False again.

The Horowitz report says the FBI considered surveilling Mr. Page in August 2016 but decided it lacked probable cause. The bureau moved ahead with its FISA application after it received the Steele dossier on September 19, and the report says the dossier “played a central and essential role” in that decision. Mr. Horowitz says the part of the application detailing Mr. Page’s 2016 activities “relied entirely” on “information from Steele Reports.”

Mr. Schiff also claimed in 2018 that the Justice Department was straight with the FISA court about “Steele’s prior relationship with the FBI.” In fact, the IG says that the FBI “overstated the significance of Steele’s past reporting.” And in three later applications the FBI did not tell the court that it had talked to professional contacts of Mr. Steele who said he had a “lack of self-awareness, poor judgment,” and that he “pursued people with political risk but no intelligence value.”

Mr. Schiff claimed DOJ “met the rigor, transparency, and evidentiary basis needed to meet” FISA court standards. But Mr. Horowitz makes clear that FBI officials didn’t even tell senior Justice officials about the concerns and irregularities of its Page application. Would the court have granted warrants if it knew the whole story? We don’t know. But the IG report makes clear that about the only thing the FBI ever corroborated in the Steele report was publicly available information.

Mr. Schiff had access to the same documents as Mr. Nunes. His decision to misrepresent the FBI’s actions shows he is willing to distort the truth for political purposes. He gets away with this because he has a willing echo chamber in the Washington press corps.

Schiff could not support any allegation against the FBI because he is likely involved in irregular financial activities  in Ukraine and those would be exposed by another "whistleblower" if he does not behave himself.   He is probably as deep into the shit as Biden, Clinton and Pelosi are.

One cannot expect any honesty from him - after all the Soros scholar are doing the bidding of his masters - undermine the  USA and use the media to do so,

They were more than just willing to look the other way, they actively participated to create a false narrative in order to impede a duly elected president...obstructed him with everything at their disposal, but he still mangaged to build the wall, kick the economy into gear AND put serious measures in place to save the world from Isis, North Korea, Iran and China.

Most competent politician ever and they want to impeach him. Unbelievable!!!

And half the world agrees, because Trump is a mean person???

Our world has become so devided, it's difficult to see that there won't be a global "Civil War" soon.

Something's gotta give...

Hopefully some of this has influence on big tech and social media bias too.

Lol Schiff, could it be the end of the twit?

Maybe someone in the Senate should open proceedings with  their own parody of Schiff taking nefarious orders from the dark Empress Pelosipatene

Great to see that all these anti-Trump jerks in the USA have had their eyes opened to real truths finally.

Just trust that they have their eyes open and their backsides to the wall when they are LOCKED UP.

Gitmo is being painted "BLUE" to house these Demorats.

They are about to exposed big time by Bill B.

The Democrats have seen nothing yet.   The conspiracy theories they have been spreading religiously over the last three years are slowly becoming clear as BS,   First there was the Russian hoax on which they believe would end Trump as President,

They are always shying away from their base document they used religiously - namely the Steele Dossier - being used in their whole campaign against Trump.   They had to shy away from it since it transpired that Steele was hired by Clinton and the DNC in an effort to undermine the Trump election campaign.   When the latter came out - they suddenly started to claim that there are other evidence that prove their story about Russian interference in the 2016 election to benefit Trump,  but no other evidence was ever produced,

Now that the IG report indicated what role the Steele Dossier played in the FISA cases - they are still in denial about it,    The Mueller investigation never looked at the issue of the Steele Dossier as a starting block for the campaign against Trump, but despite that on being questioned by members in the House stayed with the basic Steele Dossier story - by claiming that the Russians tried to benefit Trump in the election in 2016.   Mueller could not find any evidence of involvement of Trump in anything - but the tale still persisted that their was a conspiracy between Putin and Trump on that score,

The problem remains - the Steele Dossier was a conception of the DP under Obama to get at Trump an that is what Durham came across in his investigations.    So Panic Stations galore- the Durham investigation must be aborted before they get damaged any further.   So go for Barr as Attorney General - because he is too honest for their liking.

Now back to the Ukraine saga the DP is trying to use as a tool for Impeachment,   The DP are worried - the Obama administration was totally corrupt and any exposure of corruption will have dire consequences for them.   The involvement of Senior US officials in corruption in the Ukraine - such as the Biden and Kerry assisted by the US Ambassador to Ukraine must be stopped forthwith,  It goes to the core of the issue and is too embarrassing for them to continue.  They do not want to hear about that aspect and they do not want corruption investigated  when it involves their cadres.

I think it is time that a special investigation be launched to look at  the famous Uranium 1 issue and especially look at what the FBI report - hushed up by Obama - said on that issue and follow through on it - just one of many.   When it comes to Russia and Ukraine there are other links to be investigated too - especially the role played by Clinton and Biden, as well as Pelosi, Podesta and Schiff in blatant corruption involving those two countries as well as China.   The US apparently provided $5,8 billion to Ukraine under Obama - but that went into a corruption hole with links to USA politicians and no investigation was ever done as to what happened to that money.   How much of that money was actually laundered back to the USA in grants to the Clinton Foundation and payments made to family members of the allegedly corrupt politicians.

The Democrats knows that they are in real trouble - and their fight back tactics are at this stage in full flight - but the truth is likely to surface gradually and the recent IG reports are just scratching the surface.   The shit is going to hit the fan when the Durham report comes out, and when criminals are charged.   That will inevitably lead to plea bargains by the accused implicating the Obama Administration in corruption and bribery.

I think the DP made a huge mistake in the whole show.   They should have kept quiet about  the whole Trump issue and  try a fightback on issues that could have benefitted them in 2020.  However, they never had a constructive policy on any issue and what strategies they used never really worked - eg Obama Care.   The DP is divided  on policy issues with the Socialists  being the main element being used by the media for propaganda purposes,   That is in the end going to the DP going the same route as the Labour Party did in the UK,   None of the factions ever care about the deplorables - ie the ordinary working class people.

I already quoted the WSJ turning on Schiff. Now CNN has also sided with Trump on whether to Dems “misquoting” [MSM sprak for deliberate bullshitting] Trump during the impeachment hearings.

11:18 a.m. ET, December 12, 2019

Fact check: Trump says Democrats misquoted his call. He's correct.

From CNN's Holmes Lybrand and Zoe Sottile

President Trump alleged that Democratic Reps. Veronica Escobar and Sheila Jackson Lee “purposely misquoted” his call with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in a Tweet this morning.

Facts First: Trump is correct that the call was misquoted during today's debate over the articles of impeachment in the House Judiciary committee.

In the declassified memo of the July 25 phone call between Trump and President Zelensky, the President says, “I would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot.”

During the debate over impeachment articles, Rep. Escobar, using an analogy to stress the alleged problem in Trump’s phone call with Zelensky, said “I want you to do me a favor though.” This quote replaces the word “us” found in the memo on the call, with the word “me.”

Rep. Jackson, when quoting the memo of the call, said that the quote was “I would like you to do a favor though” — removing “us” from the quote.

As the President tweeted this, Republican Rep. Jim Jordan was making the same points at the hearing.

Last week, Professor Pamela Karlan argued that Trump was using the “royal we” in that sentence and actually asking for a personal favor. But Republicans and Trump have repeatedly claimed the President was asking for a favor for the national interest instead

Rooinek

By the way were you not the guy who called honourable and a real example of what an honest politician should be?   Not the exact words - but something to that effect?

Nunes gave Schiff a full report with supporting documents on the FBI abuse of FISA and Schiff had the same documents Nunes provided and he tried to cover up the situation in his response.   He now claimed he was not aware of potential problems with the  FISA applications - a lie since he was informed of the problems  and refused to take any action.

Anyway - I enjoy you cartoon - but is that the only carriage identification the NYT can come up with?

I doubt it. Off the top of my head I could add rudeness, prejudice, narcissism, incompetence, deceit, bullying, stupidity, corruption, boorishness, egoism, dishonesty, bigotry, crudeness, fraud, nepotism, oafishness, spite, cowardice,  ineptitude, greed, self-indulgence, ignorance . . . I could actually make a pretty long train!

Skapie, what most of the slavering Trumpanzees around here haven't twigged is the simple fact that just because some of us dislike their fat, stupid and incompetent hero doesn't make us Adam Schiff-worshipping bleeding heart liberals.
I've said on several occasions that the Democrats are a sorry bunch of losers and the fact that they can't find a candidate to beat this clown just shows how inept and useless they are.

Also, for me it's not about what Bozo has achieved, what walls he's built, how many trillions he's added to the national debt or which genocidal world-leader he's cuddling up to at the expense of America's traditional allies . . . for me it's about the person and his character . . . or lack of character depending on how you look at it.
My fascination with Trump is all to do with how such a disgusting and ill-mannered human being could ever be the face of America.

Oh I agree with that Rooi. I actually cannot stand the current crop of democrats but that doesn’t mean I need to bow to the chief orangutan. The eye of Hurricane Florence passed directly over the neighborhood I live in. If you want to see the face or essence of America, you should see the selflessness, the absolute commitment to duty and appreciation for ones fellow man that went on during that time.

In many respects, Americans stand together strongly when called to do so but this politics thing is divisive as f#ck. And that is not just Trump. The latest spell of division actually started with Obama when he withdrew the National Guard from Ferguson, let the town burn to the ground and then made the ‘My son could be Michael Brown’ speech despite the police officer being acquitted. He made his presidency all about race in a single sweep unfortunately. Without knowing it, he signed Trump’s ticket to the Oval Office that day. Democrats have as much real estate in the crap going on right now as Republicans do. It’s an ugly mess.

Hussein Obummer the Muslim president paid 150 billion dollars to mad mullahs shouting death to America.

He refused to use American oil, gas and coal, preferring to buy from the ME and Russia.

He and Crooked Hillary had the Russian reset where American technology was transferred to Russia.

They sold 20% of American Uranium reserves to Putin and the Clinton Foundation got 145 million dollars from these same Russians

These two traitors caused chaos in the ME and set Iran on a path to nuclear weapons.

Obummer withdrew the missile shield from Eastern Europe. Trump replaced it.

When the Russians invaded the Crimea, Obummer refused Ukraine miitary aid.and sent them blankets.

Trump sent the Ukraine real military aid.

Obummer over regulated the economy in an effort to strangle business. He allowed jobs to be sent overseas along with factories.

Trump reversed all that.

Obummer wanted trans males in female bathroom  and tried to force states to comply.

Obummer talked about border control but wanted open borders. He was not on the side of law enforcement either.

He shipped into the USA as many Muslims as he could.

Obummer knew aabout Spygate.

The man should be tried and hung for treason. Potus wants to know ALL we are doing said Lisa Page.

The walls are closing in on these COUP plotters.

One could go on and on about Hussein Obummer. The coming months should uncover further crimes by Obummer, Clinton and many demonrats and Derp Stae operatives.
