Didn't know about them. Gave them a listen. Nothing ground shaking but quite pleasant, at times a little too country and western. Not a bad addition to the daily playlist, thanks.
never heard of em ... bit like Hunters & Collectors ?
Here's some country western for you, Paks

Ja that's some serious shit.
Well, I'm going to see this "nothing ground-shaking but quite pleasant" band live in Paris on Friday 26 September in Paris.
Beyond excited!
I've recently retired and because I've been playing their music so much, as a birthday/retirement gift, my wife bought me flights to Paris for a week and tickets to their concert, which is part of their first World Tour.
She also emailed them to ask about possible cancellations and this was their reply:
Wow, South Africa to Paris, that's quite the trip! Thanks for making the effort!
While we're really excited for the Paris concert and have no plans to cancel, we can't absolutely 100% guarantee any show will go ahead – things happen outside of our control sometimes. However, we've never cancelled a headline show of our own accord, and we're really looking forward to Paris especially!
Since you're making such a big effort to join us, we'd love to offer you and your husband two guest spots on the door - it doesn't do much but it might make a small dent in lightening the financial burden for you guys. You would just need to give your names at the entrance. Let us know and we'll add you to the door!
Cheers,
Sons Of The East
I've written back to thank them and to try for a backstage pass!
They're a lot more than a "pleasant enough little band".
Listen to "You Ain't Going Nowhere" and try not to think of Bob Dylan.
Listen to "Already Gone" and try not to think of Kings of Leon.
Listen to "Another Night" and try not to think of Mumford & Sons.
Listen to "Come Away" and try not to think of Bruce Springsteen.
Then listen to Jack and Nic harmonising on "It Must Be Luck" and see how they harmonise those two great voices to the extent that they almost sound like Simon and Garfunkel.
Apart from Jack and Nic's brilliant but very different vocals, their musicianship is world class - Jack has to be the best harmonica player I've ever heard - lots of guitar, banjo and just the kind of music I love and listen to often . . . give them a try. Just ask Youtube to play their songs and see if you get hooked like me.
This is Fool Me . . .
Here's a slow one with Nic on vocals called Into The Sun . . .
Here's Come Away . . .
Silver Lining . . .
It Must Be Luck . . .
One of my favorite Ozzie musos.....

That’s really nice of them to offer you that, Rooinek :)
They’re right, it is a long way to go from SA to Paris !

The fourth instalment of the Parklife Music In The Park Festival will be held at the Muizenberg Park in Cape Town on 1 December 2019.
Australian indie-folk band, Sons Of The East, will headline the festival alongside Jeremy Loops, Matthew Mole, Sean Koch and Diamond Thug.
Sons Of The East are an indie-folk band from the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia. Bandmates Dan Wallage, Nic Johnston and Jack Rollins have already seen their music achieve 80 million streams and over 18 million YouTube views as their popularity continues to soar worldwide.
The band’s motley acoustic-electric sound has become a unique and charismatic trademark. Soulful, joyous and irresistible. With a huge year ahead Sons Of the East have decided to go bigger.
On 10 May, the band released their third studio EP Burn Right Through, featuring singles “Nothing Comes Easy”, “Silver Lining” and “It Must Be Luck” – along with a collection of new songs that further the band’s modern, indie-folk sound.
Once again Sons Of The East have combined stirring melodies and fervent, direct lyricism to create a captivating EP – while maintaining the enduring classicism for which they have become known.
To coincide with the release of their new EP, the band kick off a massive tour starting with Australia in March and April before returning to the UK and Europe in the spring of 2019 for their biggest and best tour yet.
With their full five-piece band, Sons Of The The East are taking their brilliant live show through 14 countries, playing over 40 venues and ten European festivals.
Tickets to see Sons Of The East at Parklife are on sale now at Howler.
