I’m a little bemused by how that saves water.

Perhaps by standing really close together, just don't drop the soap

Was recently in a cafeteria conversation with the director of an institution that i’m involved with. She is a black female and has zero knowledge of the industry that the institution oversees. Literally got given the job because she was black and a woman with some political connections. At least during apartheid the person appointed would be able to fulfil the role they were handed by their political chommies. About six or seven of the people, all black, that work at the institution were there with us in the cafeteria. The topic of loadshedding and power supply came up. I said “It’s strange to me that loadshedding affects so many people and yet there aren’t any marches to Eskom or parliament about it.” Her response to me, in front of her coworkers was the following… “We don’t march because then YOU call us baboons.” Let that sink in for a moment. The level of entitlement and blame shifting with blacks in a South Africa is at astronomical levels. Government phones aren’t answered, the police basically collect a salary to do nothing since private security does their job for them at a fraction of the cost, the electricity infrastructure isn’t failing…it has failed, education is floundering, corruption is still just as high as ever and the ANC are taking loans to fund their social welfare policy. This isn’t a failure of one person or one party. South Africa’s fate, though dragged out, is parallel to that of every country north of its border.

Africa is going from 3rd world to 10th-world stuff.  Economies are going backward, while the population growth rapidly exceeds GDP.

Every 10 years will be significantly worse than the next.
Africa needs to be taken over by China to be run by an authoritarian government that will limit the number of kids each person can have. That is the main reason China has been able to turn things around.

The Cape is the loveliest place on the planet, best I can tell based on extensive travel. Right now I’m in my pad in Sarasota, very nice, but not a patch on Bantry Bay….except I can walk home from restaurants at 11.00 pm and feel perfectly safe.

Mpumalanga is really confusing. Every second vehicle a coal truck yet the power stations (such as Kriel) keep on failing.

It's madness to transport coal with trucks on the scale that ESKOM is doing it...should be by train or conveyor belts...lucrative transport deals are part of the corrupt gravy train... trucks can't drive in the coal mines in the wet, hence the supply problems when it rains...incompetence on a nauseating scale, being tolerated in the name of transformation.

So the coal thief truck driver replaced lower grade coal including stones for the higher grade there in Mpapumalanga. He placed the higher grade on a site near Middleburg. Probably one reason our power stations are breaking down.
