The results are coming in and CNN has called  Trump winning in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Oklahoma.

The delegate count thus far is  as follows:-

Trump                         936         -

Haley                            87

Desantis                         9

Ramaswamy                   3

Later calls by CNN

Texas, Maine, Arkansas, Alabama, Colorado, Massachusetts

Delegate Count

Trump                        936      -

Haley                            87

Desantis                         9

Ramaswamy                   3

The 12 delegates supporting Desantis and Ramaswamy delegates will follow the example of the two candidates will also support Trump since after withdrawal from the campaign they supported Trump and even campaiged fr his selection.

The number of delegates a candidate needs to win the RP candidacy needs to win is 1214 delegates.   With 948 delegates already in his camp Trump needs 266 more delegates o become the Republican Party nominee.   Biden is certain to meet that target in remaining primaries  within the next two to three weeks.

There is one issue which in the general election in  November that is important an hat is the number of votes got in states where both Democrat and Republican participants were involved. in primary elections:-

                                       Trump                             Biden

Michigan                       759 122                           623 415                 #

Colorado                        508 787                           441 429                #

Minnesota                       252 860                          171 271                #

Virginia                           436 013                          306 645                *

The above are all Democratic Party controlled states - and the fact that  the turnout was low indicates that there is a lack of enthusiasm about Biden as candidate.   Of the above Michigan is regarded as a battleground state the other three are solid or safe Democrat states - with Virginia becoming a potential battleground state.

The Democratic Party effort to prevent Trump from running in the election  - which was overruled unanimously by the Supreme  Court - could have impacted on the primary elections with the voters not liking what happened,

There were significant changes in results indication that the Hispanic and Black voters are deserting the DP>         .   .    .

Mike I can't help but wonder if Haley got a lot of demonrat votes. I saw one estimate that 50 percent of her votes were from Demonrats.
