The ANC had a choice between selection a corrupt individual as President or an even more corrupt individual - so they elect a less corrupt Cyril Ramaphosa as President.
The Party is doomed though and I will not be surprised if a new Party comes to the fore as a potential new Governing Party in future, The only way they can stay in power after the election in 2024 will be through a coalition government.
Unless they pull a Trump and say the results of the next election are illegitimate. That often happens when a ruling party has been in power for too long, they will not relinquish power.

The fact is that 80% of the Black population in SA are more religious than the Whites are I am sure I have done more for the poor and needy in SA than any of you ever did. I will give you an example. In the 1990's I used to work 12 hours per day 7 days a week to help development of Black Communities in the area where I worked. The main aim was to replace slum settlements by properly constructed housing and create employment opportunities for the unemployed and help develop small businesses operated by the poor.
In one case in a place called Nkobongo we decided to construct a business center incorporating a hall to be used by the community for social functions plus facilities for small businesses operated by residents. The money was raised from a variety of sources and costs ran into millions. Since it was largely funded by private sector donors a Bank Account in the name of the Nkobongo Development Committee was opened and the money was not paid over to the Municipality. One of the signatories on the account was me - the other a prominent Indian lady. She passed away leaving me as the only signatory iro the account. I actually since then forgot about the account and the Development Committee after completion of the housing and community hall project was abolished. Recently I kept on receiving monthly statements of account of the balance in the relevant account and the local politico's want me to sign off on the money in the account to be transferred to their control. I flatly refuse to sign the required authority to close the account and transfer the money to their control. It is quite a substantial amount as a result of interest owned over the last 25 years and I flatly refuse to sign off on the issue and stated clearly that the money should be used to enhance assistance to members of the community - especially in the field of education enhancement.
I also did the same in other communities where development in communities were essential and it was more than a full-time job to deal with the issues - while I also had to ensure that my employers got a proper return in work from me. As such I became a trustee of the Albert Luthuli Trust who built a center in Groutville - where the home of the leader of the ANC was situated. The project was also successfully completed and is now a technical college operated as such.
I mentioned the above to prove that I am not a racist and work towards improvement of the lives of people and especially of the poor irrespective of race . So I do not need a lecture about race issues at all - I think my past history proved that.
One thing I hate is Government Corruption - irrespective of where it takes place. The ANC became totally corrupt - much like the Democrats in the USA. The ANC leadership was elected the past weekend and the two prime candidates for President was Ramaphosa and Mkhize. I am not sure which of the two are most corrupt. hence my comments above. It has nothing to do with RACE in that connotation - more to do with a horse race type of situation between two corrupt individuals in a race for the ANC Presidency.
