At one stage probably the most classy hotel in the world. With tasteful elegance , not shitty Hollywood style but old Claridges in London.
It housed many celebrities....Kennedy's, Taylors, Burtons etc too many to mention.
AND then dear PETER MAXWELL entertainer (one of the best in the world) at the Causerie.
A very good man, who everybody loved deeply that gave huge amounts to those in real need...a very naughty but actually a very clean man. Yes he drank a bit and smoked, told naughty jokes (but not distasteful or ugly) but was kind , generous and loved and looked after one wife Bess and when she died he followed 7 months later.
He travelled the world, was a big friend of Roger Whitaker but Durban was his favourite.
My friends and me all loved Peter.
