New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio joined Bill Hemmer today on FOX News Channel.

The mayor told Hemmer he does not expect New York City to open until July or August.

March-April-May-June
There will be nothing left in the city in July.

This is a good time for New Yorkers to look for an exit

Mayor de Blasio already announced schools will be closed for the rest of the year

@Beeno, no one knows for sure how long to lockdown should last. 

However, the UK and "some" other countries believe that extending the lockdown will not only save more lives- it will actually be better for the economy. If this assumption is true, a shorter term hit will be better than having to stop start the economy over and over to only have to go back into lock down again after a second or third wave. 

It is a difficult decision. Only time will tell what is the right one. 

Your main concern is that it is getting close to the elections in the US, and your master might not get reelected- especially if the economy has not recovered. 

The current situation of saving lives and the medium term economy is more important than which party wins the next election. 

If I have a choice between Trump and the Coronavirus for 4 more years, I would much prefer to have Trump. 

BS, the economy is not like a light that can be switched off and back on again ...and if people has already starved to death, they stay dead when the lockdown is over...this thing will have longer lasting issues than the virus that initiated it.
