The Wall Street Journal has a front page article today saying top intelligence officials will not be criticized in the IG report. It looks far from the historic expose the Donald was suggesting yesterday. The man who is being named was already in trouble...so this is hardly new news.

Is that newspaper report reliable or just nitpicking from the report?   Why has Durham been appointed to deal with charging of people then,

Was the FISA application true or false and who signed the report to the Court,  Was there spying on the Trump campaign.

However, I am looking forward to the Senate hearing on the report anyway,      .

The Wall Street Journal is the most reliable newspaper in the USA. And their take has been widely corroborated. Everything this IG has done thus far is consistently undercooked, so I'm inclined to believe this report will be as well

Durham, may or may not be more aggressive, time will tell.

And I'm not sure the Republican Senators will do a good job interrogating anybody. Schiff would probably run rings around Burr. The House Republicans are more  savvy....the Senators tend to be pompous, and frankly....dumb.

At the margin I think Trump has had a good week and if he is censured it wouldn't have any weight....that would be a good result for the Donald.

Mozart,

I am having the same concerns.

Cannot understand how an IG can uncover criminal activity such as leaking of classified information and then recommend that the individuals involved not be charged.

I was led to believe that the AG was the one to decide on laying charges and not the IG. If that is not the case why is Durham even continuing with the criminal investigation.

Starting to smell a "Hillary" type conclusion.

A ton of criminal activity then everyone granted immunity and free to write books on the debacle.

Shocking and frightening.

Justice denied once more it appears.

Hopefully on the 9th December justice will at last be served.

Unfortunately the pressures seem to be affecting  these investigations which were launched because of known abuses. Imagine Comey saying he saw inexperience in the White House and took advantage of it.....with no consequences. This from one of the  most important legal officers in the land.

You may be onto something here - bearing in mind that the IG has no power to institute legal action and can only report on administrative deficiencies.

The decision to take legal action lies with Barr.   I may be wrong - but Barr is not going to let illegal activities get off  easily - and may lose face if he does not act against the likes of people who tried to use RESISTANCE to undermine the Government.  He made a long speech about that issue recently and I think Durham is not an easy baby to deal with anyway,

The other issue mentioned is that the House may not want to Impeachment story to get out of hand and  too many of the dubious activities of  Biden and other Obama administration officials to be laid bare and may decide not to proceed with Impeachment and go for a motion censuring Trump - which is an admission that they are afraid of the potential consequences of a Senate Hearing under the chairmanship of the Chief Justice,   Censuring the President is an exercise in futility and is about as worthless as used toilet paper.

If Barr and Durham gets cold feet and does not want to take action I believe that there will be plenty of private libel cases keeping the pot boiling,

It seems that there were selected leaks of the report to the media to exonerate the FBI from what is in the report and the leaks was effected to try and clear the way to counter what is really criticism of the FBI,

It would be better to wait and see what is actually in the report,  The IG report is between 500 and a 1000 pages in length - if there was no criticism as to what happened then it would not need such a lengthy report if there was no irregularities

I was also under the impression that the AG sets up and places the charges when criminal activity is found.

But take the case of Comey and FBI leaks. The IG of the Justice dept. confirmed the leaks attributed to both and the lying to congress yet went the extra step and suggested no charges be laid.

Barr concurred.

What about Hillary and all her criminal activity as well. He never recommended any charges even knowing the fact that she deleted emails that were under congressional investigation, destroying the slim cards of her phones etc.

Convinced that the IG is part of the swamp from what I have gathered thus far. Similar to the IG who provided cover to Shifty`s so called `Blower`.

Corrupt from top to bottom if appears in all government departments unfortunately.

Sure trust that Barr stands tall and does what is needed to be done for the country or else his reputation will be tarnished once and for all plus corruption will continue unabated.

Shocking that this is such a slow process with justice being undermined with each and every Media outlet leaking their version of the reports.

Four More Years is the only hope left.

Barr is in an incredibly tough position personally. He needs support from the Republicans in the Senate....he can't take on the whole anti Trump freight train on his own!
