After Clinton lost the presidential election in 2016 - the DP assisted by the leftist media - went on an ant-Trump witch hunt and first tried the Russian collusion story - based on the discredited Steele dossier as a basis for impeaching Trump.
The campaign was based on the Dossier, paid for by the Clinton campaign and supposed to be used by Clinton in h election campaign as a winning strategy, For that reason the story of collusion between Trump and the Russians became a fixture in the anti Trump campaign and Mueller with a set of Democrat supporting lawyers were appointed to find Trump guilty - even to the extent that the FBI falsified information to get authority from the FISA court to spy on the Trump campaign;
For two years the story was headline news in the media and the myth was repeatedly told that Trump was guilty in all respects. They found zilch evidence of collusion between Trump and the Russians and thought they were clever by adding two things to the report that was also contested and proven to be legal nonsense - that although no evidence was found at all they added that Trump could not be exonerated and the lie was included was that Trump umndermined the Mueller investigation.
The DP shouted that they still believe there was collusion (even Nadler referred to the undermining by Trump of the 2016 election campaign by involving Russia in that election) when dealing with the latest Impeachment process, However, there was no legal basis for impeachment stemming from the Mueller report, especially after a disastrous performance by their star witness in the House.
When that option failed the DP was desperate to find another reason for the impeachment of Trump and the whole thing emanated from a phone call between Trump and the Ukrainian President in July 2019. Schiff wrote out a story what Trump reportedly told the Ukrainian President, but the bottom fell out of the story when Trump released the transcript. What actually happened was Zelensky raised the issue of corruption in the Ukraine with special reference to Burisma and Trump's response was that Giuliani knows about what happened and Zelensky could ask him about what really happened as to Hunter Biden serving on the Burisma Board and Joe Biden as Vice President threatening to withhold financial assistance to Ukraine if the Ukrainians did not stop investing Burisma for bribery and corruption. The real issue Trump asked Zelensky about was the DNC and Clinton activities in the 2016 election and the indiucation that Ukraine was involved in the criminal activities of the DNC and Clinton campaign - nothing else.
However, it was not only the Biden's involved in corruption in the Ukraine - there was a string of other DP politicians and their families also involved. That was too much for the DP to take and they decided to proceed with an Impeachment enquiry and subsequent hearings. There was near to zero evidence provided by anybody that was not absed on hearsay and no real confirmation by any witnesses of anything even remotely implicating Trump in what the DP claimed what happened,
President Zelensky said that there was no pressure applied on him to do anything to benefit Trump in any way and every trick tried by the DP went nowhere. So what did the DP come up with now:-
* That Trump tried to use Ukraine to undermine the election campaign of Biden in 2020.
* That Trump undermined the House Investigation by withholding info and forbidding staff to give evidence to the House Committee using underhand and secret methods outside of normal judicial processes to fabricate a case.
In both cases there was NO supporting evidence supporting the charges by the DP and the problem is that the Senate will - due to total lack of real evidence may throw out the case based on fabrication by the DP of infringement charges. I hope they realize what the intention is of the DP. They concocted the whole impeachment story as a propaganda issue in the 2020 election and never really intended that an impeachment hearing in the Senate will actually take place. They can then claim that the RP covered up the "crimes" of Trump during the election campaign.
One can only hope that the Senate realizes what they are dealing with here and that the Senate set up a hearing on the issue, The public will then see what really is happening in this case and how near to criminal cover-up the activities of the DP really is.
