The most cultued and historic city in Europe - Vienna

Tomorrow is the start of tghe Vienna Open Tennis cham,pionship and it brought back personal memories on the city of Vienna,   I visited the city three times and in time I came to love and admire that city.

By the way Vienna was aiibombed in WW2 and the main targets hit was the Operas House and the Schonbrunn Palace.      .   

So Rome is not the most historic city in Europe. They were writing poetry in Rome when the German tribes in the area which would become Vienna were painting themselves blue.

The problem of the Roman Empire is very close to what is happening with the USA at present - the lack of honesty in Government and corruption was a major reason why the Western Empire fell - add to that plagues that killed a huge part of the population.   That is mirrored by so-called scientific research causing pandemics like Covid.    The pandemics decimating Rome was caused by filthy living conditions in Rome - you go to major US cities and you find the same conditions there that prevailed in Rome before the fall of the empire.    ,

Vienna is lovely so is Rome but so is St Petersburg,Moscow and Budapest. All with with very ancient beauty and depth.

If you can afford it , go there and see for yourself and get a professional guide. It's mind boggling and modern cities cannot come close. Structures that are financially and creatively impossible to recipro cate today.
