This is weird as is evidenced by the following report from MSN:-
"The Public Protector's office has rubbished claims that she is trying to clip Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo's wings at the state capture commission.
According to a report by the Sunday Times, Busisiwe Mkhwebane asked to be allowed to help draft narrowed terms of reference for the hearings.
It also reports that Mkhwebane said she could do the inquiry's job at a fraction of the cost.
Mkhwebane's office says it's disappointed with what they labelled 'blatant lies'.
Oupa Segalwe, the spokesperson for the office of the Public Protector, said Mkhwebane was named as one of eight respondents in an application to extend the duration of the commission and filed an explanatory affidavit in an attempt to assist the courts."
The funny part if it all is the facts that -
* a number of her reports have been taken on review by the High Court and was rubbished by the Courts involved;
* she has consulted the SSB and Zuma's office as to one report and the Court found she acted irregularly and the report was rejected
* she interfered in the appointment of the COO of the office of the Public Protector and it resulted in the appointment of an applicant fired by the Department of Land Affairs because of him being involved in corruption - when that was exposed at the end of 2019 he suddenly resigned.
* she fired competent staff left, right and center based on dubious claims ir forced sine to resign
* she excluded Zuma era politicians from being investigated and that indicated bias in favour of the Zuma camp in the ANC.
Unlike her admired predecessor - Madontsela - she is well on her way to discredit and undermine the image of the Office of the Public Protector. She seems to be not a real Public Protector, rather a Protector of the Zuma faction in the ANC.
