I studied a vast amount of information on present trends in Countries - mainly in the USA and Europe, but in fact the issues went wider than those countries. With the EU elections coming up and the campaigning for the next presidential election in the USA starting in 9 months time I compiled the following report on the political scenario and you are indeed welcome to comment on it. No amount of propaganda is going to change what could happen in future,
What I wrote deals with real issues and could remove some propaganda stories out of the real situation faced by voters over the next decade or more.
So here we go:-
"Much is written about the Trump Issue and I am sure much will be written about him by the media and even on this site over the last three years, There are the “Trump haters” and “Trump supporters” on site. There is rarely any real analysis done as to what happened in the 2016 presidential election and why it happened.
On this site Trump is accused as an idiot on the one side and by brilliant on the other side. I think the problem is that he is neither He is a top businessman that like in his business dealings did an analysis of what the public feelings about issues are and he identified what bother the majority of voters in the USA and go politically for the jugular and won in 2016.
The economic situation
After the end of the Cold War a situation developed where through trade deals the political and financial elite developed a situation where liberal political thinking caused huge advantages to themselves.
Their policies seems to have had positive impacts on countries from an economic perspective but the question arises why these benefits benefitted a few of the political and financial elite in Western Europe and the USA and basic research indicated that there were serious defects in the system inasmuch as the following are concerned.
A few of the problems encountered in this regard are the following:-
* In the free trade environment they advocated it is better for the elite to move factories from the strictly controlled and democratic countries to countries where wages are lower and dictatorship allows for few worker rights, and where strikes were not allowed and suppressed, The industrialists then import the produced goods into Western Europe and the USA without import duty being charged and with massive profits as a result.
* The above led to two major problems in both Western Europe and the USA in particular, There was an increase in unemployment in Europe and the stagnation of the disposable income of workers and their families who at present are financially worse off than they were 20 years ago. The benefits of the extremely liberal policies never trickled down to the ordinary workers in the countries concerned,
* Another problem relates to the open border environment as to migration the political and financial elite – in most cases illegal – advocated all out for, Uncontrolled economic migration has benefits for only the elite mentioned – it could bring in workers that would often illegally take away jobs from existing workers with lower wages being the norm. It weakens the Trade Union Federations and legal workers rights.
Political Dishonesty
Fact is a political environment was a joke. In elections the political elite promised the voters the world and when they are elected they did nothing to execute their promises to the voters. Fact is they often did more and further damage to the very basic and real surroundings the workers and their families found themselves in.
They encouraged illegal migration and tried to sell it is the liberal idea of FREEDOM FOR ALL PEOPLE, That is a humane approach – but when it becomes a tool for the financial and political elite to enhance their own interests it damages the people of the countries involved
The elite regards culture as an abomination that should be destroyed at all costs since it would not serve their real interests. The same elite benefits from the support of the mass media – often owned by the same elite groups and their supporters. Keep the population informed of what they should believe than rather what is the truth. However, the internet have changed that environment completely and the media are fast losing their total control on what people should think or not think.
The Political Revolt
Brexit
The first sign that things were going wrong was when the voters in the UK voted in favour of Brexit, The political elite and upper classes favoured the Remain option as the reasonable amd sane thing to do.
The mass media wrote support articles for the Remain group by the thousands and published opinion polls that showed massive support for the Remain option. When the Brexit option won – the political and financial elite went ballistic and then found a way out of the dilemma they faced.
The major political parties realized they were in a mess. The Brexit referendum showed that at least 40% of the traditional Conservative Party supporters and 50% of the Labour supporters voted in favour of Brexit,
So how did the politico’s react to the outcome? The elite never was in favour of Brexit – but suddenly they turned around and promised they will accept the will of the electorate, something they never intended to do anyway, The stage was set to get the situation under control . A general election followed and both the Conservative and Labour parties promised the electorate that they would respect the outcome of the referendum.
The next step was to bluff the population and start negotiations with the European Union on an exit deal. The Deal allows for –
* the “exit(?)” of the UK from the EU, but then added
* the payment of a massive amount in compensation to the EU to allow for the EU to keep control of everything they used to control in the past.
Nothing would change other than the removal of the UK from any political representation and participation in the EU functioning. In all other respects the agreement would nullify totally what the electorate envisaged in the referendum.
There are politicians in both the Conservatives and Labour Parties who realized what was happening and that caused mayhem in Parliament. Both Parties pretended that they still support Brexit – but both knew that deadlock in Parliament would end up as entailing an effective nullifying of Brexit. So they pretend to work towards acceptance of the referendum results – while the real intention was the exact opposite. So the situation remained politically deadlocked and the stage was set for continuation of remaining in the EU by participation in the EU election later this month. But they are hoping that they would win in that election and the dream of leaving the EU of the working class would be eliminated.
Both major parties (the Conservative and Labour Parties) are deeply divided about the Brexit situation. There is no way that the Brexit supporters in both parties will continue to voite the Party way and that may damage their long term interests as well.
This week there were municipal elections in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The result was that millions of voters stayed away from voting altogether. The two main parties lost massively in the elections and fact is that the Conservatives lost about about 25% of the councillor representatives and the Labourers about 10% support.
Not a good sign for the politicos – the people who did not vote claimed they stayed away bcause the Government refuse to listen when they voted in the Brexit case,
The USA Presidential Election in 2016
Trump – who never was a politician found out something the politico’s and the media would never deal with – the discontent and mistrust starting to develop in the larger proportion of the population. The regular politico’s in the USA through many years promised the electorate the world during election time and did zero after the elections.
What they did turn out to be a further drain on the working class - like for instance Obama Care.
By 2016 the working class were sick of the situation in the USA – their dislike of career politicians turned into hatred and Trump got the message loud and clear. In him we have the case of a Billionaire staying in a pent house in Manhattan – talking to the voters about things that troubled them in their daily lives. He promised them he will deliver what he advocated during the elections.
Before the 2016 election the media had an idea that he may be a remote threat to their owners and started a process to discredit Trump. He was accused of being a racist inclusive of the African Americans and the Latino’s and of variety of offenses against women. Proof was absent – and a minority of woman voters did not ignored the tripe. The African Americans fell for the trick and about 66% of the Latino’s did the same.
When that did not work out – the Russian story got started and the DP and some of the Republican establishment (who did not support Trump in the election anyway) as well as the media went ballistic. The question was why should the Russians want Trump as President ahead of Clinton? They would have a lot to gain from Clinton being the President and zero from a Trump presidency.
That initial campaign was aborted and now the story spread is that Trump obstructed the Mueller investigation, but there is zero real proof that he did. The problem is the –
* hate campaign can backfire badly – since even though Trump initially said he is not going to act against Clinton about certain irregularities she was involved in – the present campaigns by the media and the Democratic Party is forcing him to change his approach and a string of prominent politicians and their helpers may end up in jail; and
* the fact is that it exposes the lack of a realistic economic policy of the DP and the need to divert attention away from that issue,
Indications are that events subsequent to the election turned the opinion of many voters around away from the DP as was proven by scientific studies and evaluations by Universities and institutions.
The problem is the Democrat and Republican Establishment – with their practice of non-delivery on their election promises have nothing to offer against Trump and they see real trouble for them in future should Trump be re-elected, Fact is Trumps victory in 2016 was a personal victory – not a political campaign.
Rest of Europe
In France the Yellow vets rebelled against the Government and is still supported by 56% of the electorate – which showed they are sick of Governments not interested in their well-being .
In most countries there was a growing number of EU sceptic countries and recent elections indicates that the working class voters are reacting negatively to the EU. Political Parties in the EU sceptic category are at present not in the EU Parliament – but will be elected in substantial numbers in various countries.
CONCLUSION
Signs are the future does not look bright for the establishment political parties in Europe and the USA.
No amount of hate campaigning will change that. The upcoming EU election would no doubt showed weakening of Socialist and Liberal political parties. The present scenario has its negatives too and signs of reactionaries in Government should always be monitored.
The scenario that Politicians does not deliver on their promises in elections and then decide not do so and the reaction of voters against it Is a sign of the return of real democracy and a bad sign for the political and financial elite. "
