Edit: posted this quickly and made a few mistakes - have now corrected them.

Here is a challenge. 

Watch this video. 

They explain the geometry involved in the piece and also discuss the level of difficulty in machining it.

The symmetry, geometry, size, working of material and final product are incredible at each level of its creation. 

While being entirely a realist piece, it somehow has a mesmeric quality to it that no sculpture the Renaissance produced has matched, for me.

It's mysterious creation adds to its quality.
