It is about marketing oneself. The trend is deep and affects all ways of life.

While it is correct to notice there are a lot of east european females servicing as prostitutes in Western Europe, be it in Germany brothels (prostitution legal in Germany) or in Barcelona streets, a lot of them may prefer to market themselves as Russian rather than Slovakian, Hungarian, Ukrainian or even Romanian.

It is a marketing issue. Just like a lot of Japanese restaurants in Europe are not operated by Japanese but people from Asia, it could be that all those women prefer to market themselves as Russian.
