There is never going to be

peace in the middle east unless there's a regime change in Iran. A negotiated settlement is putting band aid over a festering and toxic virus. Real change has to start from within, with a popular uprising supported by the USA. Ground troops might still be an option, but the timing is absolutely crucial. A revolution from within needs to be sparked by breakaway members of the IRGC and embraced by the people.
The war has now reached a critical point, something has to give, Trump's current strategy will work as long as it's consistently enforced.
