Not exactly what  we referred to as  a BOGO in the trade. Hey maybe this retailer knows his customers just need the appearance of a deal to get some action….why not get a bit more margin?

We inherently did the same thing once with peanut butter. We came up with promotional packaging in the form of a huge plastic bear we filled up with peanut butter. Because of the novelty of the bear jar, and it’s packaging scale we were able to price the whole thing above regular retail.

It sold out in a flash and moved so much peanut butter we locked out competition for four months.
