Yes there was lots of fraud in this election....but almost impossible to prove in the time frame allotted by election process. And there is no significant evidence of Republican fraud....the Republicans believe in the rule book.
But this was always going to be a failing quest.....time and the lack of appetite to take it on, signaled by the Roberts’ court before the election. I believe Trump is doing this to keep the view that he won the election alive. Maybe he did, but we’ll never know. The more fertile ground for him is the massive structural biases that effected legal votes.
Firstly the belief that half the voting population still held when they voted....that Trump colluded with Russia. Untrue, blatantly untrue. But the media refused to give their viewers a correction, was happy having them voting believing a lie. How many votes did that swing, 10%, maybe more if the story was told that Trump’s whole presidency was hampered by this lie.
Barr is immensely culpable not pushing harder to get the truth out before the election. Yes he preserved the Justice Department by shouldering arms.....but far from not influencing the election, he determined it. If he and Durham had failed a Democratic President so badly there would be mobs of black shirted hooligans outside their homes.
Secondly there was the mail-in ballot imbalance....entirely the Republicans fault. Yes they played by the rules, honest, but naively so.. In Pennsylvania the Dems sent out a million more mail in ballots. Those were returned at 87% vs 72% actual votes cast. A pick up of 150000 votes which was much more than the Dem majority. This logic held for most battleground states.
So getting within a few points was a remarkable achievement by Trump.....but not having a war time AG to quote The Godfather, and allowing the Dems to win the Post Office battle created handicaps that were ultimately fatal.
So we have the prospect of the weakest presidency since Jimmy Carter. The mid term elections in 2022 will be interesting.
