Nomination looks increasingly likely, although there are now murmurings of the GOP leadership working a deal at the convention to keep him from getting it. Surely, if this was to happen it would be self-defeating as Trump would run as an independent and draw enough votes from the Republican nominee to ensure a Democrat victory.
There is validity in the argument that Trump would lose a one-on-one election against either Cruz or Rubio as his level of support is capped within the party but for now it seems likely that these final five will stay on the ballot for the entirety of the nomination process, or at least long enough to continue to split the votes to where it won't matter if some drop in the end.
Cruz is an idealogue, and to drop out to ensure a Rubio victory would be unacceptable compromise. Rubio as the establishment nominee isn't going anywhere. Carson swears he is in it for the long haul as does Kasich. Kasich seems the likely VP nominee for Trump so he could be in the race to water down the opposition as well.
Certainly an interesting election cycle, and one that has surprised in that you didn't expect Trump to have this longevity but the chips seem to be falling exactly right for his victory and the anti-politician groundswell is strong.
Trump vs Clinton would be a slugfest. I wonder how often he'll be called a sexist.

Matey, interesting indeed and the race-card is used too often and unnecessarily most of the time. PC to the extreme is the promotion of lies.

Well you can add nepotism to the list, with his daughter running his company now...which would be the feminist proof of sorts.

There is validity in the argument that Trump would lose a one-on-one election against either Cruz or Rubio as his level of support is capped within the partyOimatey please oak try and understand that even when Jeb dropped out Trump got some of those votes as Moz showed. When Rubio drops out or Cruz trump will pick up votes. The fact of the matter is that Trump and Cruz together form a healthy majority. Both are not establishment and will draw closer together to ensure Rubio never gets the nomination. Trump congratulated cruz on his victory in Texas. They are similar in their approach. Note also the thing called momentum which is firmly in Trumps favour. Also Cruz will not do as well in the north and rubio is toast.
The more the main stream media get hysterical and launches extreme and disgusting attacks on Trump the more trumps popularity grows. What has happened is that the American citizen has twigged they are being taken for a ride by the elite multi culturalist globalists who serve only themselves and are ruining the country. This is also thanks also to the internet. The GOP establishment is getting the boot. No question about that. Expect all hell to break out and Trump to be smeared in a terrible way. Then we can only hope he then beats that terrible women hillary clink and serial rapist billy clinton.
