I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY! He is needlessly killing a lot of people, and I’m not just talking about soldiers. Missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

…..

So I guess contrary to media and TDS speculation Putin doesn’t have anything on Trump….another blow to Russian collusion. In the negotiations he was trying to give Putin maximum credit, so he would be in a better position to accept what will always be a humiliating peace for Russia. Before the war most military analysts would have said Putin alone would have dictated the peace.

Putin apparently can’t or won’t accept a peace that gives him part of Ukraine. So sadly the war goes on.

The world could have been a much better place without Putin, Xi and Khomeini, but we have to deal with them. The Reagan lesson is make it as difficult as possible for these bad actors, but avoid putting them in a corner…and trust to time.

Trump's words on Putin are meaningless until he backs them up with actions. All they appear to be is a pretty miserable attempt at trying to give the impression that he isn't overtly too pro Russian.

Yes they are meaningless….that’s why they are headlines in newspapers across the world.

Didn't say they weren't news worthy, Trump commands the news cycle and he knows it. He can say whatever he wants and the media will lap it, but unless he does more than talk and actually takes actions against Putin/Russia he's not gonna get anywhere.

Stav and others

In you cases you have never been right on anything . When facts are finally established you were trying to get out of the shit you were spreading by mentioning more shit,

Trump kcked Zelenskyy out of the WH beause he misbehaved by telling Trump what he must do and say in front of the media,

So lets look about Putin - very harshly - or face he consequences that will destroy Russia, Trump has one principle he stuck by in tthe past and that is wars are to be prevented or stopped, That is why he negotiated with the Taliban So lets take a lesson from his past conduct. When meeting iwth Taliban leaders he showed them air photos of all their homes - which they actually admitted was the case. So the harsh part followed - Trump said if they misbehave those homes will all be gone. If Biden and his advisors were not idiotic the Taliban and terrorist takover would have been avoided.

He intervened when the possibility of another war between India and Pakistan erupted and Trump intervened and stopped the rot and peace talks are on the way.

Trump met Putin a number of times and had scraps with Putin in the past. He tore up the 1984 treaty about restrictions on nuclear arm development production because he belieed Putin was cheating on the issue, He stopped the construction of the Baltic Sea pipeline and Biden allowed it to be completed,

Trump's latest contribution is a very harsh warning to Putin and he put it bluntly - if you misbehave again Russia will be destroyed, So what will happen next is not clear - but if I was Putin I would try and re-establish negotiations. The problem is what Trump says is always the same - if he warns someone on any issue - if that someone conues doing wrong things - unlike under the previous Presidency where promises were made and never kept - if he threaten someone like Putin - nasty consequences will follow,

So lets wait and see hat happens over the next month.

So DumbMike, have you changed your position on Putin. It was not long ago that you stated Putin invaded Ukraine to protect ethnic Russian Minorities? Also, that Putin only wanted to take certain parts of Ukraine, when everyone else in the world knew it was plain old imperialism to take all of Ukraine - except you and my goldfish.

So Trump gets tough and Putin escalates killing more Ukranian troops and many more civilians. What’s next? How exactly does he ‘get tough’ without the consequences falling primarily on the Ukranians.

Describe the actions you want him to take.

My position never changed, I said Russia was wrong toi invade Ukraine and favored a negoitated settlement of the war through negotiation, What I criticize even more was the corrupt regime in Washibngton who preferred corruption above a peace settlement in Ukraine. Whenever there were negotiations initiated it was sabotaged on direct orders from Washington.

Now it comes out that Joe Biden was not even in charge in Washington - the unelected real president varied betwen Dr Jill Biden and the cocaine addicted crook Hunter Biden, But that is another story and in that I have always been right and the site BSters like SB and Stav has always been wrong. End of story,

Really???

Have you?

Mike, away from the board you're a top bloke, enjoy your insights on cricket but as for Putin and Trump....you're are either blind sighted or the biggest BShitter on this site.

You've always defended both of them.

I don't ever recall your condemnation of Putin the murdering bastard or the Clayton's D1 President who was going to make it happen....on D1.....but never did.

Why don't just answer Sharkbok's questions instead of giving a long boring sermon which no-one reads?

Escalate with what?

The consequences of Putin's war are already primarily falling on the Ukrainian's. But the Ukrainian's appear willing to endure those consequences as opposed to be forced into what they consider a bad deal. (And no bringing up that poll where a majority of Ukrainians expressed a desire for a negotiated peace does not refute that)

What I want Trump to do is go after Russia's shadow fleet and to warn Putin if he doesn't stop what he's doing Trump will flood Ukraine with weapons or at the very least supply Ukraine with defensive missiles like Patriot.

Denny

My problem is I try and check facts and not based my opinion on what media opinionmakers are trying to do. I chcked facts not only based on media reports which are generally influenced by ideology,

Lets go back to 1917 and 1918 - in the media the only real story was about Trump being "owned" by Putin. So the Justice Department appointed Mueller as Special Council to prove what the media claimed was the case, Mueller could find zero evidence of collusion with Russia by Trump or his election campaign - one big ZERO, Instead of findiingg evidence somebody in Russia paid Facebook $41 000 supporting Trumps candidacy, On this site Trump was guilty and should be removed from office and charged with high treason. Mueller found NO evidence whatsoever of collusion. One ould have thought the media would admit they lied about what happened - but they did not and carried on with that story after Trump was re-elected as President.

Barr as Attorney General found that hundreds of millions were spent on propaganda that had no real base - so he appointed Huxham as Special Council to determine how the Russian Collusion started, Three parties were identified as being involved in the case of the Russian Hoax, lies namely -

  1. Te Clinton Election campaign and the Democratic National Committee - in other words the Democratic Party;
  2. The Obama White House and Justice Department; and
  3. The FBI and CIA - weaponized by the Obama WH,

In essense the whole strategy used was to get rid of Trump as Presidenrt - based on lies the above three institutions leaked to the media. So one would have thought that the media learned from what happened in he past - but they did not.

In essense the lies had real judicial consequences which the Inspector General of Justice investigated and found that false infomation was provided about Page to the FIS Court in wich the Justoce Department and the Obama WH got ermission to spy illegally on the 2016 Trump Election campaign, Another example was the Flynn case, Flynn - a registered Democrat - was picked by Trump as his Director of the CIA. Lie in the case of all other countries involved the Putin Government wanted to find out what the new Trump Government would do insofar as foreign policy was concerned and the Russian Ambassador spoke to Flynn on the issue. Flynn did not give any info of value to the Russians since he did at the time not really knew what was going to happen and is still in the process of finding out about the functioning of the CIA. The phone call was recorded by the FBI and they knew exactly what happened, So the FBI send Strzok and another agent to talk to Flynn on the issue, They tldlynn it was just an investigation they routinely do in such cases, They found nothing of consequence and then Strzok concocted a report on the interview - which he sent to the WH legal advisors, What then happened was that the WH staff concocted a report on the FBI interview that painted Flynn as discussing issues with the Russians - which were BS and sent it to the FBI for filing. Nobody acted on charging of Flynn until Mueller ordered him to be charged based on a falsified report on the issue. Flynn ended up being charged. Since the case was based on lies by the FBI and the WH under Obama in the end Barr dropped all charges against Flynn.

Friom that time I learned one thing - before I believe what the media wrote it is wise to cross check and find out what is really happening - especially when it comes from media hating Trump and being of leftist orientation. I was always interested in Russian history and wanted to find out about what the people really are like. In 1973 I tried to get a visa to vist Russia - but was not granted one. So instead I went to Hungary and East Germany instead, I was rather shocked about what I saw - but was not shocked by the fact that I saw some Russian soldiers visiting the Soviet War memorial and dressed in a safari suit for them it was clear I was not a German. They spoke German and I understood what they wanted from me. They were friendly and I let them take photos of me and them together, I still have have the photos - by the way. The Holliwood movies for years indicated that Russins were horribly bad - so in 1993 I visited Russia and when talking to many people I found them being very cultured and very friendly and helpful,

Same can be said about Amerians I met on many occassions. So I do have an open mind on things. Insofar as the Ukraine War is concrned I studied what happen in Ukraine in 2014 and have always had a soft spot for Ukrainians and donated generously to welfare organizations helping the poor in Ukraine. However, I was not impresed by what the CIA was involved in funding a coup in Ukraine that let to a Civil War starting in 2014, I consistetly suppoted peace efforts in Ukraine and stil do. What I do not like is that Uraine from independence in 1991 was always regarded as the most corrupt Governent in Europe and my sympathy was with the Ukrine people - not the Ukraine Government. There is one issue that bothered me recently and that is the fact that USA involvement and funding of wars are closely linked to bribery and corrption - i this case in both Kiev and Washington.

Trmp - in line with his history about wars were against every war since Iraq and Afghanistan and wanted it ended in a way that helped the ordinary people in countries like Yemen and Iraq, But that is not favored by corrupt elements in Washington where grant funding to every country in the world is associated with kick backs to US Politicians and bureaucrats, In 2019 Trump stopped cash transfers from Govenment grants woldwide temporarily and insisted that the State Department and Treasury submit proposals that would stop coruption and kick backs to US politician and bureaucrats. It affected the pockets of Pelosi and Schiff - the two most corrupt individals in US politics - and when Trump decided to stop the rot and buy $1 billion of military equipment in the USA and do no cash transfers to Ukraine - Pelosi and Schiff concocted impeachent procedures against Trump. In the end the impeachment failed because it was based on BS and lies, .

In 2015 and aftewards I lways supported any peace initiatives in Ukraine and I still do. When Putin ordered an invasion of Ukraine in 2022 I condemned him for that and said and still do support the end of the War in Ukraine. I dislike it when politicians used the suffering of people and has supported the War in Ukraine. If Putin was not to be trusted I condemn his conduct as well. What I did hope for was that Trump would try and stop the War and on this site alwas supported negotiations as the way to go. If Putin undermines peace negotiations I will alwys said the continuation of the War is supported by both Zelenskyy and Putin.

The story the media came up with and constantly repeated on this site was that Trump would throw Ukraine under the bus to please Putin. There never was any proof of that ever provided by the media other than a reincarnation of the Russian Hoax BS that was disproved as lies over many years, I do not trust the media and do my own research and when site members came up with endless articles on the issue I do not support their nonsence and kept supporting peace initiatives. I still do and if Putin sabotaged negotiations he is to be blamed for failure of the USA to settle a peace initiative in Ukraine - my condemnation of his actions are the way I react to most videos and articles on site, The fact is that Trump will not put up with BS from both Russia and Ukraine,

So I will end up cndemning anybody favoring wars anywhere in the world and Ukraine is no diferent, , . .

What are you talking about Russia's shadow fleet? Russia has a stronger fleet than the European members of NATO combined bar Turkey, Greece and Italy who for own reasons kept stronger fleets - eg Greece ad long hsitory of wars against Turkey and Italy distrusted all Muslm countries going back to the year 1 000 AC.

The problem is that the main strike force in naval terms of the USA comprise of -

  1. 11 aircraft carriers using planes that hads bee badly outdated and needs replacemnts;
  2. 60 nuclear powered and armed submarines - of which 20 is out of sevice because of maintenance work that was never done in the past four years,

The strongest and most modern fleet is not the USA one - but the Chinese navy has more operational ships and submarines than NATO combined, There are a lot of countries and mostly NATO members who are left with real shadow fleets - so I would raher be careful using that term.

As to providing military aid to Ukraine the US A has problems in modernizing its on defense force and since neglect sets in since the 1980's the USA has a lot of upgrading to do on its onm forces, In essense too is the fact that the US econmy was rushing headlong into bankruptsy - by 2030 the loans used by teh US Government will be twice mre than the ountry's GDP - so in the end the USA has a problem and a choice to make, Should the USA upgrade their on oces and provide modern equipment to its own Defnse Force and not provide arms fopr a war Ukraine with the ebst will in the world can never win? Since the USA already spends more on interest and repayment of loans than they spend on Defense. So that is a problem for the USA that the US Government is - how can theya rm Ukraine instead of upgrading their ow defense capacity?
