Amid a great deal of early chaos, Trump has registered one win. ‘Encounters’ with illegal border crossers have dropped by a factor of 20. The Roosevelt hotel in NY used to house legions of illegal immigrants is no longer needed. Democratic mayors have stopped complaining about illegals

The WSJ editorial reporting this now urges him to forge a lasting, fair and practical immigration regime. The country benefits from the right immigrants, who are anxious to work for their families.

You won’t read much about all this in the NYT but it’s win number one and boy, does he need it.

Granted, this is something that the voters did ask for, and Trump has delivered here.

New border crossings are down, and with the deportation of criminals, he will continually reduce the number of illegal immigrants.

Borders exist, and a country reserves the right to legal entry. People can still apply to go to America, where a background check can be done (e.g. not someone with past criminal convictions), and they have a clear intention to seek jobs through a legal right to work, and possibly seek citizenship in the longer term if everything works out.

El Salvador's jail is anything but a 5-star hotel.

I see that tourism numbers from Europe have dropped drastically in America as well.

Probably scared they'll get rounded up and sent to the El Salvador jail, but the world sentiment of America has dropped drastically, so pre-booked holidays are being cancelled.

Well Americans will no doubt continue to go to theme park Europe. But some of those Brussels suits would look good in El Salvador. Not great accommodations, but a fun movie though Salvador with James Woods

Biden deported more people than Trump did in his first term. Biden also made it much more difficult to be approved for an asylum hearing,let alone be approved for asylum.
