Turley: Democrats Want China’s Restrictions on Free Speech

Jonathan Turley, a liberal constitutional scholar at George Washington University, wrote Saturday that some Democrats were using the coronavirus pandemic to demand China-style restrictions on free speech.

Oaks the demonrats are left wing fascists hence their support for the CCP. They cant win any arguments thus the have their own media and want to control everything.

In the op-ed, published in The Hill, Turley criticized “the politicians and academics who have called for the censorship of social media and the internet,” including Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), Hillary Clinton, and others:

The only thing spreading faster than the coronavirus has been censorship and the loud calls for greater restrictions on free speech. The Atlantic published an article last week by Harvard Law School professor Jack Goldsmith and University of Arizona law professor Andrew Keane Woods calling for Chinese style censorship of the internet.

They declared that “in the great debate of the past two decades about freedom versus control of the network, China was largely right and the United States was largely wrong” and “significant monitoring and speech control are inevitable components of a mature and flourishing internet, and governments must play a large role in these practices to ensure that the internet is compatible with society norms and values.”(That they want to control!!!)

 Bwahahahaahahahahahahaha

The justification for that is the danger of “fake news” about coronavirus risks and cures. Yet this is only the latest rationalization for rolling back free speech rights. For years, Democratic leaders in Congress called for censorship of “fake news” on social media sites. Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube have all engaged in increasing levels of censorship and have a well known reputation for targeting conservative speech.

Citizens now will have to decide, as Goldsmith and Woods insist, if “China was right.” For my part, I remain hopeless in my desire for old fashioned free speech before the pandemic. You see, this “new normal” seems a lot like the old normal that the Framers changed with the First Amendment. China may be right for many in Congress and academia, but it remains on the wrong side of history. Not even a pandemic will change that.

Turley, who does n ot support President Donald Trump, nevertheless testified in Trump’s defense before the House Judiciary Committee during the impeachment inquiry, warning Congress it was abusing its power.

This is indeed a dangerous campaign by the leftists in the USA to censor anything they do not like on the internet - but the next attack would be on the media they do not like.   In the meantime the leftists media censors news themselves when the information they do not like is made public,   The alternative they use is to distort information like the one on the IG report - where they said  the IG found nothing wrong in the handling the FISC case by the FBI - while the exact opposite was the case.   

The Democrat House refused to even schedule the Hearing on the issue with the IG who in continuing studies found gross irregularities in 28 similar applications and even that would not be considered by sectors in the media to report on - since they would be put in a bad light,  

What I think the leftists would like to end free speech in line with their hatred of the democratic system, which can be manipulated by using the media to brainwash people,   This really was classic examples of what the Communists and Nazi's did in Russia and Germany and what the Communists still do in China and North Korea,   

What is indeed not surprising is the reference to Adam Schiff in the article.  Schiff is the main  agent of the Globalist Communist Soros in the House and is one of the biggest liars in the fight against Trump.  A very large percentage of the Democrats are de-facto supporters of the Communist Chinese Government themselves with no loyalty to the USA.   Whether they actually do so on political grounds as real believers in the Communist ideology or whether they have been bribed by the Communists remains a question - but they are indeed enemies of the democratic system of Government.    

The fact is that people like Prof Turl ey see the very real threat to democracy the Democrats have become in the USA.   Once the USA succumbs to the system the rest of the EU will succumb to the whole system with the EU being the main vehicle used to achieve that objective by the leftists,   The thread of leftist dictatorships through media control is very real,  .     .
