I agree with most of the conclusions, but you can’t simply divide  the deaths for confirmed cases....by the number implied by the sample infection rates for the population as a whole, to get  a revised  death rate. The numbers I have  run suggests a death rate between 0.1% and 0.4%.....maybe up to 4 times higher than the flu...but not the disaster that was predicted.

That aside I agree with most of their  conclusions and suggestions..smart practical guys.

The highlights were a blogger who coined the term Dr Faulty....too true. And I also enjoyed one of the comments that Faucci hadn’t seen a patient for 20 years....also true.

Be afraid, be very afraid if the whole world start pushing for something, it's probably the worst possible choice. The world wide hysterics should have been the first clue that we are being driven like a herd of cattle to the slaughter. 

To get the death ratio you have to make an estimate of the people who did not report but who were infected. Because of the numbers being tested this can now be done with some accuracy. From what one can ascertain the death rate are not more than 0.1 % and could be even lower.

You want to tell me Dr Fauci is so stupid he quotes the WHO Wuhan death ratio of 3.4% that does not include any estimate of unreported Wuhan infections and compares this to the USA flu deaths ratio that include an estimate of 36 million unreported flu infections.

Dr Fauci was not comparing apples with apples and he MUST have know this as must Tedros of WHO. This is a falsification, a hoax of gigantic proportions and caused the mass panic. Face facts it is impossible this was a simple error!

The trouble with that approach is the deaths are reflecting infections 2 to 3 weeks ago......the infection rate in the sample reflects the situation now. Given the curves the calculation of:

Total deaths/current sample projected infections

...needs to be adjusted by reducing the denominator  by 60%. That means the 0.1% rate is more likely in the 0.25% range.

It is weird that the totally unreliable figures  in SA that there are real problems in the imapct assessments worldwide.

In SA he figures are as follows:-

*   Tests done  =   161 004

*    Positives    =      4 361

*    Recoveries =      1 473

*    Deaths        =           89

I call the figures unreliable because only about 0,028% has been tested  and the positive potentially much higher than what was given above.  Overall whether that is enough to scare the shi t out of people and cause a near to total collapse in the SA economy remains questionable.  .

Indeed. Did you hear how aggressive the laymen journalists reacted when they realized that the obvious deduction off the data went against the "official narrative"?

Things are so obvious and yet most people are not prepared to face what's right in front of them...clear as daylight. 

It’s hard to get good comparable numbers on the flu...but if we take two comparables that are bandied around,  the flu has a 0.1% fatality rate, 90% of which is in the over 65s, who in turn constitute 12% of the population.

That means the >65 DR = 0.1*0.9*[100/12]=0.75

So those numbers suggest flu is 0.1% death rate and 0.75% death rate over 65. Perhaps something in the order of 0.5% over 55.

Whereas Wuhan is a 0.2 % death rate and a 2% death rate over 55. 

That suggests Wuhan is twice as lethal as the flu over all and 4 times as lethal for those over 65.

Still not nearly serious enough to chance a world wide economic implosion...

The figures for South Africa are starting to look much worse though...The townships are being hit hard ATM. Kayalitsha, Mitchellsplein and Du Noon being the hotspots in the Western Cape.

 I hear lots of rumours....One being that over 30% of the tests done in Kayalitsha are positive...frightening if true.

That's why the lockdown was useless in SA, Draad. You cannot lock down people living on top of each other like that. A destructive exercise from which will gain nothing.

Yes....herd immunity is the likely course for the countries with huge populations in poverty. Lockdowns are a delusion.

The Wuhan virus is no more deadly than the Flu.

When it comes to younger people its much less deadly apart from those with pre existing conditions

The snowflakes have taken a big beating on this issue from day one. The clowns still don't get it. No clue whatsoever.

They may have been highly interesting and experienced, but they have just been axed by YouTube. Apparently they never toed the party line sufficiently well....there will be no free speech on the Wuhan virus.

This is truly getting extreme.

Geez, my crystal ball is reliable.

But wait, there's more.

Big tech already have access to all your personal communications and internet activity. Once this virus settles, private companions will have permission to track every last one of your movements without a warrant. At that point it's not longer true metadata but instead analytics data. For those that don't know the difference, look it up.

I'll make another prediction too...

We'll read much more about Trump's tweets than we will about exactly how (insert carrier here) will be allowed analyse our movement data.

And this begs the question, are they still private companies or are they government organs?

Slowly people begin to understand the value of blockchain technology.

I speculated around 2012 that a personality anti-virus would soon appear. An app that disguises and encrypts your communications, both written and spoken. I feel it's reasonable to assume that phones with dead switches and location blockers are also on the way.

Hopefully, sooner rather than later, a few big personalities and some whale'ish investors see the benefit in blockchain video sharing sites where free speech can once again exist.

I've had my ear to the ground in that respect for some years now and whereas only three years ago it was hardly mentioned, today most of the big podcasters and content creators are leaning towards the need for a new platform. Good news I guess.
