Unless there are still unknown side effects from the vaccine, countries that are vaccinating quickly are the comeback kids and the first to taste what a world without Covid could be again. 

There was another day during summer last year after extreme lockdown when there was also only one death. However, summer is just starting now. 

Some people have been infected despite having the vaccine, but most of these were before immunity developed after 3 weeks following the jab. Others were mostly very old. 

The vaccine reduces the chance of being infected, as well as reducing transmission to others if you did get infected. That is in addition to reducing the effects of being infected.
More cases will be asymptomatic or reduce hospital cases, and deaths.

The UK rollout has been very impressive. Hopefully the rest of the world will catch up soon. We really won't get back to normal until Covid is under control everywhere.

Yes Stav, the longer Covid is around anywhere in the world, the more chance it has to mutate. 
Worst case scenario a new variant could take everyone back to square one. 

Hopefully, the upgraded versions of the vaccine are more resistant to variants. The South African variant seems to be best at getting around current vaccines, especially those that have only had one jab.

Tell me Sader, will you let anyone inject one of your grandchildren with an experimental gene therapy treatment which is still in trial phase? To protect them against a disease that barely affects people younger than 18 at all? Do you know how long it normally takes to develop a safe vaccine? Do you know the possible risks involved with mRNA gene therapy vaccines?

If all adults did this, herd immunity could be achieved without kids.

No, actually you are the coward,  p!ssing his pants, so in fear of a disease  that you are prepared to force an experimental drug on kids who are in no risk from the virus at all. There are no data on the long term side effects of such gene treatment drugs, but fear is a powerful motivator I suppose. 

We are just more than a year into a pandemic we don't prperly understand yet, but you are prepared to throw caution to the wind for a bot of short-term security. Herd immunity my arse...herd mentality is more like it.

I took the vaccine to protect myself and everyone else. If all adults took the vaccine, kids would not have to. A badge of honor...

Surely it makes sense for adults to have the jab first, just in case of unknown complications. Instead, you have put your own self-preservation and salvation ahead of kids.
Now kids have to get vaccinated because of you for society to achieve herd immunity.
You will happily benefit from herd immunity, even if kids have to get vaccinated.

In January alone, the UK reported nearly 32,000 Covid deaths, an appalling tally directly linked to locking down too late.
In April, the death toll fell to 753.

My son has received his 2 shots due to his line of work already.

Apparently the new variant in India that caused  the IPL to be suspended indefinitely is not  effecte d by the present vaccines.
