Blobbok

I find it funny - a missile with a speed of around 2000 shoot down a missile travelling at 5000 kms.     A t home we call it BS.

So DumbMike, you do realise that a missile has a trajectory? Or that the Patriot does not have to catch up to it, because the missile is going toward it.

Wonder if the Kinzhal hypersonic missile will feature at tomorrow's Victory parade

Ou Maaik's primary brain cell stops to consider this while the secondary brain cell - even though it was travelling at a slower speed - crashes into the primary brain cell causing a puddle of drool to form on the desk under ou Maaik's chin.

If it was a Kh-47 Kinzhal missile it is possible but I shot 3 partridges with 3 pellets once, that's true but I don't expect anyone to believe it and truth can be stranger than fiction just as a down and out won a R240 million Powerball with a quick pick in Cape Town sometime ago.

Anyway, so what, the bored internet trolls catch a cheapie, none of them have ever experienced combat or seen a comrade blown to bits.

You would think that by that one off they had won a victory Hahahahahaha.

How infantile and pathetic.

True, Seb. We watch movies about war and think that we have, conceptually at least, an understanding of what war would be like. I had an experience 3 days back that abruptly reminded me that we have zero idea. A place I was visiting has fort on a big hill overlooking the town and its docks. The fort was used as a cannon perch from which the town could be defended from enemy ships. Long story short; I was waiting for a bus to the airport. Suddenly an almighty explosion rang out and I actually felt the shockwave. Almost kaked myself and instantly thought it must have been a propane or similar explosion. No, it was the traditional midday firing of the cannon. For context, I was about 700-900m from the site of the cannon and wasn't in direct line of site to it. At that distance, less than a cubic foot of gunpowder creating that kind of explosion and shockwave...was very surprising. Once I found out it was the daily traditional cannon shot I immediately thought, imagine you're the one having to fire that thing while taking return fire in the the process. Now imagine being on the font lines while those cannonballs are flying your direction. Very humbling. I mean, people adapt to situations etc but I honestly don't know if I could hack it. in fact, I'm pretty sure I couldn't.

Plum you would actually be extremely surprised what you or any other normal average person is capable of doing....  especially if suddenly put into any serious / dangerous / life threatening situation which arose out of nowhere...

Interestingly....the ones you would "expect" to see stay and handle the situation, are very often the very first ones to cut it and run.... and then a very average unassumingly looking member of the public is the one to step forward and face the issue and possibly save the day.......

Obviously, these scenarios I give here are very different to war, but the characteristics of the individuals involved remain the same.... a hero, despite what side you are on.

Once the adrenaline kicks in, insane things are possible....

The human mind and body are incredible creations.....

To those who don't know it, war is a game. See this post as an example. Ooh we shot down your fancy missile with our stupid missile, leeeewsers.

It's like the kid recorded speaking at the beginning of Rogers Waters' What God Wants Pt. 1:

“I don't mind about the war. That's one of the things I like to watch, if it's a war going on, 'cause then I know if our side's winning, if our side's losing…”

All entertainment from the couch.

The Russian Bot speaks from experience. He fought in Vietnam, Irak, and Cambodia to name just a few of the places.

I still won't and will never understand how one man can make so many decisions for an entire country....

And no, I am not referring to Russia here..... I am talking in general

Whilst teams of people are often involved in these processes, the decision still often comes down to one person.

In the context of the Russo-Ukraine war H ypersonic missiles are primarily a propaganda tool for the Russian's. Not useless by any means but not a weapon system that going to change the course of the war on its own.

The yanks gave up on their hypersonic missile program due to unreliability at those speeds. Meaning the Russians probably didn't get it right either but are happy with only hitting the target one in ten times. Showing the missiles launching is a far cry from those missiles hitting the intended target.

So Russia has no sense of urgency….it’s just a slow grinding process. Why finish the battle. So much for the theory the war was an urgent need to protect Russians in Ukraine.
