Ukrainian counteroffensive pushes through Putin’s final line of defence?

We bring the news this morning that Ukrainian tanks have reportedly cut through Putin’s final line of defence in western Zaporizhia Oblast signalling a big breakthrough.

The Institute of Study of War claims it is the first time Kyiv tanks have broken through Russia’s strong defensive layer of anti-tank ditches and obstacles.

The ISW cannot confirm the Ukrainian troops have fully broken through Russia’s defensive layer, but the report this morning indicates progress in the counteroffensive.

We’ll bring more as we get it on the Ukrainian offensive in the south of the country.

---------
It still needs to be verified by satelite etc, however sounding positive .

I think it is better if Ukraine does not push Putin into a corner where he feels he has no solution but to deploy the Nuclear Bone - Horrors.

It appears  the Ukraine army is retreating in the wrong direction as they only have 8 weeks before total defeat according to our resident pedos.

Let’s bring in Colonel McGregor for his great insights. I’m sure he’ll be able to assuage all doubts and show this is all part of Putin’s plan.

Ukranian tanks advancing…..wait wasn’t that supposed to be Russian tanks?

Good luck to anybody believing  that.    I think that  Zelenskyy addressing a near to empty UN National  Assembly and Biden talking incoherent nonsense indicate to me that the war is nt going well for anybody.

Now Zelenskyy is off to address and instruct the Congress to provide further funding  to  Ukraine,    Not much  chance of that - the Republican Party wanted a detailed forensic audit on what happened to the $113 billion already spent by the USA to. support Ukraine.   That will take  months to complete and the findings are likely to pen a pigsty of corruption - so the war will have to be delayed for months and even then the the money may not be  approved.

One side says the counter is failing spectacularly, the other side says they've pushed through the final defenses. War propaganda is like the Oprah show, everyone's a winner.

Yes. Let's take an easy one: have you ever read a book that pretended The Bay of Pigs invasion was a success?

Russia has its faults but there's no Hollywood.

This is now the Russia that denied the Chernobyl nuclear disaster even as the winds carried the fallout all the way to Sweden? You know, the old Soviet Union that Putin pines for?

What I said above is not for  neutral tjhinking people like myself, but for the benefit of the brainwashed.    Although there are corrupt elements in both parties - the majority of corrupt poliyticians are      are Democrat.

The House Republicans is striving to reduce reckless expenditure by insisting that th e Federal debt limit - already exceeding the GDP of the USA  by 26% - for limiting the raising of the debt limit to cover only essential spending leaving out foolish political programs. the War in Ukraine is reaching the level of foolish spending     They want a forensic audit done iro the $113 billion already spent by the UJSA to assist Ukraine.    A big job since the fiorensicx elements will also identify where corruption took place and who benefitted from it.

According to opinion polls 61% of the USA voters do not support any further aid to Ukraine - despite massive propaganda to the contrary.    The next election is 13 months away and the Ukraine war funding is a issue that could have implications and nobody would want to be on the wrong side.   So my guess is no further funding for Ukraine - what will happen then?   The USA can keep sending arms to Ukraine , but will not be able to replenish it,   China would love it so what for more invasions in  the case of Taiwan and South Korea.     They will delay it till the Strategic Oil Reserve and arms run down to danger level and then attack,

You peopl;e apparently love wars = so be happy - there wil;l soon be plenty of those.                    .

That  happened under the Communist Regime,    Much has changed since 1991 and despite the present Government be accused of dictatorial tendencies - Russia is an entirely different country from what it used to be.

I'm sure the Russians are perfectly decent people, like most people everywhere within the limitations of human weakness and circumstances. That's not the issue.

The issue is that you seem to imply that the Russian authorities won't engage in false reporting about the war, which is of course naive nonsense.

There was a report on site that an air defense system was destroyed in the Crimnea and now you said as a result was that 10 generals vanished.   Just a question to get clarity on - as the defense system manned by generals?

The Telegraph one hour ago:

A Ukrainian general leading the southern counter-offensive has said that his troops have broken through Russian lines in the Zaporizhzhia region and is expecting further breakthroughs.

“On the left flank (near the village of Verbove) we have a breakthrough and we continue to advance further,” general Oleksandr Tarnavskiy told CNN.

He acknowledged the advance had been slower than Ukraine hoped.

“Not as fast as it was excepted, not like in the movies about the Second World War,” he said, adding that retaking Tokmak, 12 miles beyond the current front line, would allow Ukrainian forces to push further towards occupied Melitopol and annexed Crimea.
