Novak Djokovic provides the perfect response to the Australian Prime minister’s hounding of him for political gain, he is still a champion and Morrison is a loser. One of the sorriest chapters in political opportunism comes to a very satisfactory end.

Morrison exploited this for political points and as a media opportunity at the expense of Novak.

However, ultimately it was the correct choice because it was the law that Australians had to follow. Law is not always right but is only fair if everyone follows it, and it is consistent with everyone.

We should have forcibly injected him with the vaccine when he was in the hotel/jail cell. That would have really wound up the anti-vaxxers...

Gene-therapy. Not vaccine. If you can't use the proper words, you shouldn' t be talking about it.

I will let the inventors of the vaccine say you have corrected them.
It is amazing how billions of people have taken the vaccine, but no one has encountered this so-called gene therapy. Everyone still has 2 arms, 2 legs and one brain.

(Except for the anti-vaxxers who never had a brain to begin with. We were able to force some of them to be vaccinated)

Novak was accepted in the field by Australian tennis knowing his circumstances. One can be pretty sure they consulted with the government. The ejection should never have happened, it was an opportunistic decision. Contrast that with an Aussie cricketer playing against the Proteas while he had tested positive for Covid.

Nah, it actually takes a brain to look at the data and conclude that the virus affected the elderly and the obese out of all proportion to any other group or age. So for me as a 40 something, healthy individual, not taking an experimental jab was a sound, sensible decision that I don't regret for a moment.

Vaccinating everybody regardless didn't make sense then, and makes even less sense now. There is zero science supporting that as a necessary course of action.

@Pakie,

Most people got the vaccine voluntarily. It was not forced on people once it was established the vaccines were almost useless at preventing transmission.

For a brief while, there was talk about continuing lockdown for the unvaccinated. (This was before Omicron when the death rate was much higher as was long Covid).

I don't know why you lot carry on whining about the vaccine. Once it was clear that the vaccine did not slow transmission, no one cared if the anti-vaxxers wanted the vaccine or not.

I know people in their 40s who died from Covid or have still got long Covid.
They were unfortunate to get the earlier strains of Covid that were far more powerful.

By the time Omicron came around, many people had been vaccinated and it was no longer so deadly, so the numbers were completely different. People started to lose interest in Covid, it was only the anti-vaxxers that continued on with it to this day.
