The US economy blew past expectations and added 303,000 nonfarm jobs in March, marking the 39th straight month of job growth and coming as something as something of a victory for Joe Biden’s presidency.

The unemployment rate remained virtually unchanged at 3.8 per cent as healthcare, government and construction gained the largest amount of jobs.

The number exceeded expectations. ADP had predicted that the US economy added 184,000 jobs.

The report is a boon to President Biden, who hailed the report on Friday morning.

”Today’s report marks a milestone in America’s comeback,” he said in a statment. “Three years ago, I inherited an economy on the brink. With today’s report of 303,000 new jobs in March, we have passed the milestone of 15 million jobs created since I took office.”

As Mr Biden faces re-election, he hopes to point to an improved economy as an advantage against former president Donald Trump. Earlier this week, he hosted Senator Bernie Sanders, his 2020 Democratic presidential primary challenger, to tout lowered healthcare costs under the Inflation Reduction Act.

Mr Biden drew a contrast between his own economic policies and those of Republicans.

“I’m calling on large corporations to pass along their record profits to consumers,” he said. “And I’ll continue to stand against Congressional Republicans’ efforts to cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid and to enact massive tax giveaways for the wealthy and big corporations.”

But Mr Biden faces significant headwinds on public opinion when it comes to the economy despite the positive numbers. A Wall Street Journal poll of seven swing states showed that 54 per cent of voters in Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona and Nevada think that Mr Trump would be better at handling the economy.

The same survey showed that 31 per cent of swing state voters think the economy is “not so good” and 33 per cent think it is “poor”.

Mr Trump and Republicans have repeatedly asked voters if they were better off now than they were four years ago despite the fact that the economy went into freefall four years ago amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Indeed, the latest jobs numbers show that the leisure and hospitality sector has grown by 49,000 jobs and has returned to its pre-pandemic levels. Healthcare, government and construction all saw job gains, with healthcare adding 72,000 jobs, government adding 71,000 jobs and construction adding 39,000.

On top of the positive job numbers, hourly earnings grew by 0.3 per cent at 12 cents per hour for March. Wages have grown at 4.1 per cent in the past 12 months. The number exceeded the annual inflation numbers. In March, the BLS reported that inflation rose by 3.2 in the past 12 months.

The latest Consumer Price Index report will be released in the middle of April, which will show how much prices rose for March and the past 12 months. The latest inflation numbers will likely determine whether the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates after repeatedly raising them in 2022.

How about dem apples Trump puppets??????

Suck it up.

The Biden Administration has one thing  they do expertly they state job increases and a month later downsize it  and the figures are a lt lower than that     Most of the o-called jiobs in the ind ustrial sector has statisticalle just averaged the numbe of jobs in 2019 - the difference is that even at 2 % growth would be just about 200 000 jobs more than there wa in 2019,

What is largely to blame is the  fact that the economy is being destroyed by the following issues;-

*     The fanatic Green policy of the Biden Regime is having a negative impact on US oil production since the owners will hav to spend billions  n drilling of replacment wells are out.    impact on drilling of replacement wells lading  to import oil - which in 2019 was not necesary.  Internally that cause prive rises in gas and fuek usage which ahs a huge imac on fooad and other commercial activities.   There is general agreement in the USA  that since 2021 the prices of groceries has gone up since 2021 being by  between 25 and 28%.    Futhermore food production in the USA sufffered the same ordasl as the similar regulations on absolute control of the Govenment as to what people must  be farming with.     Meat prduction and the herd of cattle is nw equal to what itt was in 1977 - so with an increase in prics and a drop in supply their are for the firt time in 90 years 49 million people who are listed as food insecure.

*      The growth in the federal debt and usage of money monstly for expansion of the civil service by hundreds of thousands of jobs - eg  he internal revenue service by appointed 87 000 additional personnel doubling the number of employees of that Department is bing implemeted and the Govrnment are rinting moneyat an alarming rate.   .

*      The flooding of between 9 and 10 million illegal migrants  into he USA by the Biden Regime cause further problems a to supply and demand and since the Govenment provide better aid to the migrants than they do to thel USA Citizens  the opinion polls indicate that 60% of the voters indi cating that they are now worse off than they were in 2019,

*        The export of US manufacturing jobs to other countries took off again  under Biden  - the   situation is so bad that the companies are moving their production  of electric driven vehicles to Meixo where the Chinese own the factories making batteries for electricity driven cars getting cobalt from mines they own in Mexico.   The largest Cobalt mine in Mexico was purhased by a Chinese Company in 2016 - when Daddy was there tt facititate getting prermission from the Mexiocan Gpveernmentthoruh the Biden Crime family and the sale was dealth wit by Hunter Bide's  was sold to the Chinese  through Hunter Biden's Rosemont company    Daddy-O helped to convince the Memxican Government to give the encessary approvals.   Trump rightly said that the resent situation Biden facilitated will be causing a bloodbath by destruction of the U S vehicle production industry.

The above indicates why the Biden job approval ratings over the last two years have been below 40% of the voters according to opinion polls ,   In ne case he aproval rating insofar as he economy is concred reached the low of 26%,    If the Biden Administration goes though with their decision to implement  furthe inflation- ased policies.   o   .

The people know what they have to cover monthly expenditure and they cannot make endx meet.   No amount of Government  finacal buffopnery will change that.   Biden's Green Policy Team is facinq out Diesel-driven vechles and equipment used by farmers.    That will have two effects - namely transport operators and farmers will have to invest billions of dollars to replace vehicles and for farmers to buy nww equipment.    The effect of that would be the protests by farmers agaist similar EU Laws and lower food production levels is leading to food insecurity problems as well with consumer prices going through he ceiling..

If you ask American workers what they think of the above article they would tell  you it is a waste of paper, bcause it does not cover the real financial ills of he US Government system - in fact they are making it worse,

Pum

They ave the same socialist ecinomic policies and that has never worked since time immemorial,   Another  comparable isue is corruption in Government - it is endemic in SA and if not already on par in the USA it will soon be.

And things in Russia are just tickety -boo. The US has always had excesses, but continuous innovation and re-invention.  The US economy has never been further ahead of the rest.

Tell that to the 49 million people suffering from food insecurity.

Food insecurity in the US equals food abundance in most of the world….it’s a nonsense number. The US ranks 13 on the food security index, ahead of countries like Germany, New Zealand, Spain  and Australia. An accomplishment for such a huge country with a diverse population.

South Africa by the way ranks 59th, perhaps you should worry more about starvation in Riversdale.

Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief and food rescue organization, published a new report today highlighting the latest Charitable Food Assistance Participation Estimate, which estimates the number of people who received assistance one or more times from the charitable food sector. The report finds that in 2022, approximately 49 million people – one out of every six people in the U.S. – turned to hunger relief programs for support, which includes the Feeding America nationwide network of more than 200 food banks, 21 statewide food bank associations, and over 60,000 partner food pantries and meal programs. Last year, the Feeding America network provided 4.9 billion meals to tens of millions of people in need.

……

So these people never starved….they were given food. Many of them spent their  government money on other things….booze for example, going to the food banks because it’s free.

And many could get more lucrative gainful employment if they are prepared to work

In America hunger is mostly a matter of choice. Once again you have been fooled by the headlines, this time  those of the liberal left. People who genuinely need food are helped as they should be.

Once the dust settles and the government jobs and part time workers are excluded from this expected "Biden" inflated report then we will be able to judge the actual number.

Thus far numerous "Biden Job Reports" have been show as being inflated and not the correct numer at all.

Incorrect, inflated and clutching at straws on the way down I suppose.

If the Fed believed jobs were contracting, in an election year, they would have lowered interest rates already. Instead all the talk is of fewer, perhaps zero decreases in the  rate this year.

Lower intres rates laid dow by the Govenment is nt covering the food prices and the increased food osts fo families.  How would that effec the interest in respct of home loans ad redit card debt - so most of the voters are not going to be effecteed by the interest rates charged  but by the empty fridges and less food than hey need.
You read the media on financial issues - but the working class does not need them to tell them how well-off they really are - they knew the real truth - they know they are worse off now than they were undxer Trump.
Vote-buying in election years  have subsqunt nasty consequces for the public in f urthe inflation and empty shelves in shops.

Sixty four percent of families own their house. The average mortgage is close to $500,000 ….so if mortgage rates go up 3%, 64% of families are on average paying $15000 a year more.

Of course it’s an election issue.

Nic tgry - but to state that 64% of the USA  citizens own their own homes and decide the loans are $500 000 each is just about as much guess work as imaginable.   in any ven the avergae loans on homes were actually i the vicity of 7,5% charged y the Banks and even though the G ornment said its interest rates are 2,5% is not even realistic/    Prices of eerything is higher than the 2,5% the Governwment claims it to be  and the stuation are going to eb much worse next y ear tan it is at present.

In any event the Black and Hispanic voters  are leaving  the Democatic Party faster than ever before and according to survwys and polls domestic price rises are not stagnant and much highe than the Govenment claims it is.    However, all Governments in the world lie when it comes to inflation and in some cases in SA prices ahe increased by up t 100% - while the Government claimed inflation sus at a rate of 5,7%,

The U S Economy is not as sound as the Govenment pretended it ito be  and  as a result of for instance the Petrol price the rate is already up  to 4% thie past three months.    However, even the great speech of Biden has been eroded and will erode further.

The ulrra-left policies of the Biden adminsitration ha resulted in large numbes of the voters turning against what the Democrats stand for at present and they are going to lose centrsist votes - up to 12% of the voters in polls indicate that they  are now suppoting Kenendy.

The voters have larned a bitter lesson from their experiences oer the past four  years and Biden is still a weak leader.     The only real sisue th e media advocates is the Hate TRump sceaio and think it will work again - but will it.    The attack on chirches like the Catholic Church is not working out .     Signing off on Trasngession Illumination Day and then claiming he did not - is not working out either..

D iddy has his own supporters  and he found out that what the US  Government did with advance notic t the emdia of the raid on his homes are no making them happy.

I do not read up much on issues - bu the act that the Governor of New York was told at a wak on a mudrdered police officer is typical - the Police do not trust te Federal Government unde Biden any more.    I looked carefully at the outcomes of the primary elections and in some sattes the results were shockingly poor when it comes to Biden compared to the votes he got in  in the 2020 primaries   In Michogan.

                                                               2020                     2024

Biden                                                    834 872                623 640.

Trump                                                   639 495                759 122

Not healthy when it comes to Biden's support base voters.   The same tendency prevails in virtually every state   and the large number of uncommitted voters are blamed by the  Democrats being from the Muslim community - but a substatial number of voters voted that way was beasue they support Kenedy.

Anohe tendency is also notiable in S tates like New York.   In the 2020 elecion Biden got 60% of the votes cast in 2020.   In the 2022 Goenor election the percentage vote  the Demcorats managed to win by geting 52%of the votes and that was before the illegal migrant cisis had an impact on the   State.

I think Biden by August 2024 wil announce thc closure of the Mexican border - but that means only that he will reintroduce that policy within days after the election.- since that type of issue is strictly controlled by Gates and  Soros.
