Was just watching a press conference by Pete Hegsuck and Gen Dan Caine.

Hegsuck starts off thanking God and Bozo (not necessarily in that order), brags about disfiguring the new "not so supreme" leader and then spouts the standard lies about Operation Epic Fail. Tells everyone how wonderful Bozo is and then hands over to Gen Caine who gives a sobering assessment. Once he's done they go to questions.

Hegsuck takes the first question and starts boasting about all the things the US is still going to do to Iran. He then says the CNN headline criticising Bozo for not thinking about securing Hormuz is biased and wrong (has a few pops at journalists who he names and shames) and then spends a few more minutes saying how wonderful Bozo is before carrying on saying we're going to do this and do that.

He then hands over to Caine who gets a very similar question and simply answers, I'm not going to answer any questions on our objectives or our plans.

LMAO!

Spot the professional.

You can almost hear Hegsuck gulping in the background so he quickly says "but we have options" . . . and then he sucks up to Bozo some more . . . with a few references to God and how everyone should be on bended knee in prayer to the members of Operation Epic Fail.

What a complete and utter fraud this man is. Even more out of his depth than Bozo himself . . . and that is saying something!

When this deeply unpleasant, defensive, rude and grovelling suck-up says "don't worry about it" regarding the Straits of Hormuz, I worry a lot more.

It must be great going into battle with God on your side.

A bit like how Putin's religious cardinal told Russians that if they die in Ukraine, they will go to heaven.

Patriarch Kirill on soldiers’ sins being forgiven

In September 2022, Patriarch Kirill, head of the Russian Orthodox Church and a close ally of Putin, preached that Russian soldiers who die in the war in Ukraine “in the line of military duty” and out of a sense of duty and oath are making a sacrifice that “washes away all the sins that a person has committed.”

Articles summarising his sermon explicitly note that he said Russian soldiers who die in Ukraine will have their sins forgiven or “washed away.”

Religion sucks in all forms.

The sooner we get an AI god to guide us the better.

That's interesting. I'm watching a guy called Lt Gen Mark Schwartz who was asked about Iran's nuclear capability.

He answered that it has been severely diminished both during Midnight Hammer and Epic Fail but . . . BUT (and this is what I didn't know until now) Iran does have 1200 pounds of enriched uranium buried somewhere in the country and they have the know-how to assemble a nuclear warhead using that uranium.

This is news to me. Did anyone else know that?

Hegseth has also reportedly banned some journalists from a briefing because of ‘unflattering’ photos

US defense head is eager to frame operation as a success – and slam journalists for not portraying it in a positive light

  1. Has the pro-Maga media turned on the Pentagon over Iran?

"Hegseth has also reportedly banned some journalists from a briefing because of ‘unflattering’ photos"

It wasn't reported, it was confirmed as fact.

I wonder what the photographers are supposed to do . . . he has such an unpleasant and hostile expression all the time.

This from your link, bob:

"The question, asked during a 4 March press briefing with Pete Hegseth, the secretary of defense, and Gen Dan Caine, was a good one: if the US had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear facilities during an operation last June, “what was the intelligence that suggested that somehow they became a threat once again that required us to get involved with Operation Epic Fury?

That's the question I've been asking all week.

Actually I should edit the heading . . . this weak little suck-up prefers to be called the Secretary of War.

No bullshit.

The Honorable Pete Hegseth is the secretary of war. He was sworn in on Jan. 25, 2025, as the 29th secretary of defense before the department's name was changed on Sept. 5, 2025.
