Besides the propaganda by the media on both sides - the problem for Schiff and the DP is that all that came out during the hearing is differences of opinion between staff on the policy of Trump vis-à-vis Ukraine. Ultimately such opinion differences does not entail any grounds for impeachment - the function of policy determination rests with the President - not with staff on lower level.
When they were pressed they all said that the transcript released by Trump is an accurate assessment of what was discussed. There was no evidence provided that support the issue punted by Schiff as to first "quid-pro-quo" and neither was there anything about bribery.
I think with the available evidence it would be impossible to find anything to meet the Impeachment requirements stated in the Constitution. At best the DP could come up with a frail resolution not really based on proof of any wrongdoing and if that happens the question is whether the DP would have the votes to get it through the House to the Senate and whether the Senate will vote to deal with the issue at all.
I think the IG report will wipe out the whole process and even if the DP supporting press shouts and screams about it - nobody can really attack the Obama-appointed IG that he is dealing with the issue on a political basis. I initially heard that the report was circa 500 pages in length - but now that it is circa 1 000 pages. That would not be the case of there was no wrongdoing - but the length indicated to me that there is a lot of things very wrong in what the IG has uncovered.
To my mind what Durham is determining flows in part from the IG report - as well as info uncovered from other sources and what the whole picture is as to charges to be laid against a string of people. That is what is really going to happen - but who would go to jail?????????? .

I listened to the whole speech of Barr at the Federalists convention. He basically dealt with the Division of Power between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches of Government and what the Founding Fathers wanted from the three Branches and how that would develop since the independence of the USA and the Constitution has been developed.
He was particularly critical of action of the House and of Courts in certain areas, In the case of the whole process he referred to the RESISTANCE strategy since the election of 2016 and mid-term election of 2018 where -
* any legislation proposed are delayed or never passed when it came from the Executive;
* since they do not deal with legislation - the House members have time on their hands and they call for millions of documents to be submitted to them and then say delays and non-submission is an obstruction of justice - thus frustrating the functioning of Government Departments - this never happened in the case of the Bush and Obama administrations; and
* the appointment of nominees are totally obstructed in Senate - where in the case of the present hearings there have been over 430 such hearings since 2017 and dirt are dug up on nominees by DP members and then stated as factual, while in fact there was no evidence other than fabrications of stories - funny enough all related to sexual misconduct as many as 30 or more years before. Even the FBI could find no substantiation of the dirt, In the case of the Bush Administration that happened to 19 nominees - in the case of the Obama Administration there were 2 such cases.
This is a shocking situation where the DP apparently developed an illegal strategy to sabotage the Trump administration - something completely opposed to what is in the Constitution. I think that this type of thing is not acceptable in any democratic country and is totally lawless in execution. It is a bad sign not only for Trump - but for all future Presidents where either the House or Senate is controlled by another Party than that of the President.
As to the Judiciary there are Judges in some Courts that makes rulings that is totally against the basic principle of separation of powers and in effect results in ruling of the country by a few unelected judges - all appointed by Obama. It is weird that any rulings on issues by Trump ends up before judges in California and Washington and they then issue decisions binding to the whole country. That was never intended in the Constitution.
Be it as it may - that kind of thing is totally unacceptable and I am afraid that when cases of criminality stemming from the Durham Report come up in Court - the RESISTANCE STRATEGY is going to extend prison sentences by many years, Certain forms of resistance can actually be classed as sabotage of governance equal to a revolt against the elected Government.

See what I wrote about Sondland - the man made up some assumptions from what happened and under questioning floundered around having no real proof about any statements by anybody about what really was going on. He contradicted his own e-mails at times. and apparently did not realize the effects of his own statements. He was stating one thing while questioned by the DP members and the opposite when questioned by RP members.
This quy is going to face court action by Giulani as sure as hell and the claim is going to be massive. The only thing missing was real supporting evidence to back up his assumptions.
