…is investing in new chip technology. They were showing a wafer which is 15 inches in diameter, holds 70 chips, each chip contains 50 billion transistors. Which means this 15 inch circle contains 3.5 trillion transistors each smaller than 1 strand of human DNA. How can a species capable of such sublime accomplishments choose to be ruled by such a limited man?

"How can a species capable of such sublime accomplishments choose to be ruled by such a limited man? "
Mankind as a species has never been ruled by a single man. Not in recorded history anyway.
Only a Yank would be so conceited and so far up his own arse to think that his president ruled the entire species.
Even if Moffie was only referring to Americans, the very limited man who ruled them is gone. He lost and now he's sulking like a little bitch and whining about how the election was stolen from him . . . and some incredibly stupid and naive people still believe him!

Saw an interview recently were a guy compared human history to a book, allocating 200 yeas of human history to each page. The first 799 pages being pretty much the same with subsistence farming, tribal conflict, extracting and using metals more efficiently, kings and queens…nothing really new. And then the last two lines in the final paragraph of the book read “They discovered electricity, built aeroplanes, invented the transistor, split the atom, went to moon and understood how to clone themselves. Quite the cliffhanger.

Actually if you look at the headline I was  referring to Putin and those in Russia who chose him as their leader. The same could be said about the Americans who chose the geriatric who is Dr Calamity . Don’t bother to apologize I know you are embarrassed. How many times can this poor chap shoot himself in the foot trying to ‘get’ me?

Your initial comments are very misleading and forgot what happened in Russia since 1990.   the fall of the Communist regime as initiated by Yeltsin and when the Communist sent Russian troops to take over the Russian Parliament - Yeltsin  mounted a tank and addressed the troops and the people who tried to protect the Parliament building.

The fall of the Communist Party was  followed by extreme poverty of virtually everybody - I was in Russia in 1993 and everyone was poor with average income less than $30 a month.    In one shop window in the main street of St Petersburg the only item on display was a tube of toothpaste - everything was in short supply.

Yeltsin was not really effective as leader and the eonomic problems persisted while he was President.    He then when getting old thought about appointment of a vice-President and his choice fell on Putin.    When Yeltsin died he as succeeded by Putin as President and the econmy started to recover rapidly and in view of their pocket books .he recevied a majoruity vote in Russia -  where the people after decades of poverty under the Communist people found the fact that they were really looked after.

Unlike what you believe Russia is not a dictatorship - in the last Parliamentary election the Putin supporting parties ended up with 48% of the vote - but  due to the fact that the opposition is divided into at least 6 parties they suffer from the fact that votes are split between parties and the first passed the post principle applies the Putin supporting parties have a huge majority in the Duma.     53% of he voters not supporting the Governing Party does not indicate the country is a dictatorship.

Putin's leadership causing the major economic recovery of the early 2000's caused him to be popular and he served the country well in that respect.   He was initially elected  with a majority of 70% support - that hovers around 60% at present - so it is another example of not being a dictatorship.   The Russian Parliament did not as alleged changed the constitution as alleged - they gave the green ight to run in a third consequent term as a special case.   Whether he would win is another question.

The Russian people do not like to see Russians being oppressed  - there are many Russians living in the Baltic states as well - but they are not oppressed in those countries so there never was a threat of attack on those countries,   In the case of the Ukraine  the situation was different.  In the 2013  election a pro-Russian president was elected by. majority vote - and wth the financial help through the US  Embassy an uprising took place in Kiev resulting in attacking of  Police by essentially the Azov battalion and the elected President was under threat of his murder by the said battalion left the Ukraine.

The 2014 coup resulted in a civil  war erupted between essentially between the Ukrainian and Russian peoples living in the Eastern Ukraine.    In that civil war  that continues unabated  since 2014 - 18 000 civilians died - most caused by attacks of  the Ukraine army on the Russian  civilian population.     That got worse in 2021 and 2022. - in the end  the Ukraine Parliament passed a law banning Russian teaching in schools and the Ukraine Government arrested  opposition Parliament members - despite the fact that the Russian speaking members supported a proposal  condemning a potential Russian Invasion - but they are still in jail without real charges .   Russian speaking people were fined  basically fo speaking Rusisan in public.   All opposition parties have now been banned and the country has been turned into a real dictatorship.

Putin raised the issue of oppression of Russians in Ukraine repeatedly in negotiations prior to the invasion and the EU countries and US Government ignored the situation and pretended there were no problems facing the Russian speaking residents in the .Ukraine.    The end result was that the Russians  invaded the Ukraine to protect fellow Russians - many of whom has relatives residing in Russia.   The latest news is for instance that the Mariupol  residents are forced to go to Moscow  - they are not and those who wanted to go elsewhere can do so - the Russian speaking people are evacuated  for their own safety to Russia,.

The fact is that  instead of  losing support of the  people because  of he Ukraine invasion Putin will likely  end up more popular than he ever was for his role in protecting Russian speaking people from  oppression in the Ukraine.

The BRIC country leadership was aware of what is going on and is now supporting peace talks between the Ukraine Government and  Russia - real negotiations prior to the invasion would have stopped it and the destruction stemming from the invasion would not have occurred.

.

The problem is

Rooinek

Trump was not a fool - he was a competent President and the USA and the rest of the world was a safer place than at present.   Biden is a total incompetent dementia sufferer - everything he and his Administration touched has turned to shit.   The corrupt Biden in fact is a front for the real government in Washington.

However - the Democratic Party is divided into the  more moderate elements - the center leftists  and the radical leftists,   The midterm election is  just over 6 months away and the Democrats as a Party is self-destructing.    There support from the Latino voters and independents has dropped since 2020 by more than 20%  (57% of the Latinos  and 63% amongst the independents becoming 37%  in both categories) and the results may be the worst the Democrats will suffer in the past 100 years - they may self-destruct as a party and a decent center-left party not determined to destroy the USA may emerge.

I see that the US army have managed to transmit power wirelessly over a mile. Pretty amazing. Far as i can tell, they’re not the record holders though. The distance achieved by private companies is probably far further. While all the greenie morons think legislation will solve environmental issues, the smart people come up with actual solutions. Probably some ways off but there is now hard science backing the idea that power generation proximity to user might become redundant. In which case nuclear comes out as the clear winner. No worries though, the doomsdayers and naysayers will find something to virtue signal about. I also see that new quantum encryption records were recently set. That is, a record amount of data has been transmitted via quantum entangled particles. So we’ll soon be using wireless power and communicating securely at faster than the speed of light over any distance we can imagine. I’m interested to see the first remotely powered rockets. Not having to lug fuel with you, is a pretty big deal. The biggest deal actually.
