I am sure you have seen the bumper sticker "Life's a bitch and then you die"Well life is pretty hard if it's all there is. Hence the constant grumpy approach from our "no god" supporters.

Not to believe in God and His simple requirements to shed off sin, is uncomfortable for mans fleshy desires. Mankind lusts after many things like comfort, desire, pleasure, pride, control, power, freedom, etc, etc and to stroke and build his self esteem. This is called the natural man.

And this is in all of us to lesser or greater degree, but God is in control , loves us more than we understand what love is.

We are minions, insignificant, and truly feeble in relation to what God is, we are the clay, He is the Potter.

God has intelligence, ability, power, love and immeasurable qualities far beyond our comprehension to capture and understand them. He is God and God means simply God, you cannot go beyond or above that.

He is Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent which there is no measure possible.

Our limited abilities fruitlessly try to challenge  that with science, yet He made science, every molecule, atom, every ant, elephant, microorganism, everything, even the air we breathe is under His control.

Creation is love, man's lesser understanding of love has been seen in small masterpieces of which man himself has called masterpieces in art, architecture and literature to name a very few aspects of accolades.

We ogle at a DaVinci, Michelangelo, Monet and Van Gogh but this is only within our limited ability to fully comprehend beauty...the scale of our ability is so limited. With God , He is the Alpha and Omega.

We are limited to time and gauges, God is not...He made time and eternity...we cannot understand that because our abilities cannot see that.

So atheists limit God existence to their own limited understanding.

You are either insignificant or special...you can't be both. If God thinks you're special then you're special, right? So which one is it? Are we insignificant or are we special and full of meaning? Also, if you are insignificant, what meaning could you possibly discern that is of any significance? Insignificance can't hold significance within it because if it does then it's no longer insignificant. I think the problem with religion is that people use too many words to describe something that is rather simple. Why not just say that you are here, there is purpose to your existence and you are loved by a higher being. I don't get why all the word salad has to be used. All the mentalising, philosophical takes, on and on...does it really serve any purpose of which the sum total is any greater than the simple truth that religious people feel? If you believe something, cool, that's enough. Help people, be nice and do your bit for your family. The more you preach the further you push people away. No lesson is greater than an example. Just be that. More isn't necessary.

You are either insignificant or special...you can't be both.

What a load of cobblers, its a matter of perspective. In the context of the universe we are insignificant, the universe couldn't give a shit if we existed or not even if it wanted to and us ceasing to exist would not change the universe it would go unnoticed everywhere but here on earth, but in the context of mankind and our families we are special. I know for a fact I am special to my kids just as they are special to me.

Good point CFan. That should shut ButtPlug up for a while but we know he'll just blunder on and say something even more stupid.

Must add, I can't believe such an ignorant and childish post is actually getting hits . . . and now I'm guilty!

Nice post Plum….it’s amazing how much more pleasant life becomes if you try to be nice to strangers. Being nice to your family is easier, but often things are left unsaid that could have a massive impact.

Come to think about it, Plum and Pakie, point taken in my enthusiasm to share, I became overbearing and verbose. It was not my intention.

I apologise, it is not very attractive and yes you are right.

Lol CF did you emerge from your drunken stupor for just long enough to string some words together? "And this is in all of us to lesser or greater degree, but God is in control , loves us more than we understand what love is. We are minions, insignificant, and truly feeble in relation to what God is, we are the clay, He is the Potter." You'll note the post I was replying to...where a religious person talks about their own insignificance yet is also loved by God. I sometimes assume that you guys can connect the dots for yourselves...and that's always a bad idea. Wise up, you numbskull.

No worries, Seb. I'm not religious so I don't know how difficult or easy it is not to share something that profound held within. I'm only talking from personal experience and from seeing how people generally respond to being preached to.

‘ Rooi, is the ultimate test. If one can be nice to him then surely Nirvana awaits haha’

The biblical quote put it this way:

‘ Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Oaks the scriptures have the answer. "What is man that thou art mindful of him the writer marvels. The very hairs on our head are numbered.

God gives us significance. End of story.

Two great posts by Seb and Plum as thoughtful as ever. We then crash down to Blobbrain and old crust.

As for Rooitwit given what he is  I think I show him great respect. But I draw the l ine at allowing him to follow me on Twitter!

Atheists have no hope, see no reason for existence and live in fear of death which they know is a heartbeat away. Terrible to be a foolish atheist.

The OP is golden. Again.

Christians think that life on Earth is sufferings so no difference with atheists.

The difference sits with a belief in an after life.

Now what. Christian beliefs include the existence of an entity known as the enemy or something.

Master in confusion.

Now that, reading the Bible and how to enter the after life, many ways and contradictory to each other.

Only quoting three: the grace, the works, the faith.

The one god died on the cross to redeem all humanity.

People are saved through their behaviour.

It takes only to accept Jesus in one's heart to be saved.

But no grouchy Christians.
